How About A Silly Adam Sandler Movie?
Look, it’s been a hectic week, and I’m about to head on a trip into New York City by the end of today. So I’mma just gonna share this Adam Sandler Netflix movie trailer, because I don’t have many other options today. Not a lot of content has come out to share.
Some people don’t like that Sandler just makes movies with his friends, and they probably won’t like that he’s now just putting his daughters into his movies. But I don’t mind. Like I said, I like Adam Sandler. Netflix keeps throwing money at him to make movies, and if he wants to use that money to put his daughters into his movies, that’s fine by me. Maybe they’ll be good actors. Maybe nobody needs to watch this film.
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah comes to Netflix on Aug. 25.

The Continental Doesn’t Look Half Bad
I still think it’s a little bit of a stretch to make a TV show about the hotel from John Wick. But Hollywood can spend their money on whatever they want, I’ll probably watch. This trailer looks pretty cool as an action, gunfire sort of show set in the 1970s. That’s a solid premise.
I’ll try to give The Continental a watch. I wonder if it’s gonna end with a baby John Wick coming into the hotel. We’ll see. Again, it looks like a perfectly fun action show. And it’s only 3 episodes long. That works for me.
The Continental comes to Peacock on Sept. 22.

6 Thoughts on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (Review)
I’m a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was born in 1983 and the classic Ninja Turtles cartoon came out in 1987, so I was the perfect age to get hooked for life to those super fun adventures and all those collectible toys. I’ve caught most or some of every Turtles adaptation since, though even I haven’t been able to keep up completely. Still, I am fully on board with TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and everything it has to offer.
Movie Rating: 9/10 – Great
I have been very excited for this film since it was first announced. Seth Rogen is using his power in Hollywood for awesome adaptations, from Preacher to Invincible to now a really great take on the Turtles. And then we got some trailers, met the characters and now we’ve seen the flick. It was marvelous, and a great new take on this beloved franchise. Mutant Mayhem is one of the best movies of the year, hands down, and I hope it drives Turtles content for years to come.
Maybe it’ll get me to finally start reading all those IDW hardcover Turtles comics I keep buying…
Join me after the jump for my fully review/thoughts on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie. And feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments below.

Look, I’m a huge fan of all the ninjas in Mortal Kombat. I was the exact right age and exact right level of nerd to just get deep into MK lore when those games came out. I used to own a guide book for Mortal Kombat Trilogy because I wanted all the character bios. I didn’t even own the game! So I’m really enjoying all these character-focused trailers for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1.
And the latest trailer gives us an actual deep look at Reptile, with actual character development. Has the green ninja ever gotten this much development?!
The trailer also features Ashrah and Havik, but who cares about them? I’ll grant you, Havik’s fighting style looks pretty awesome. But Reptile is the real champion here! Character development! Shifting back and forth between human and reptile! Death roll attack! And it looks like he’s on a good guy team through most of the story? How neat!
Man, I’m probably going to buy this game just for the story and the reimagined characters!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/5/23
It’s a new dawn! It’s a new day! The Fall of X is here and I actually read a couple of those books, like the new X-Men and Astonishing Iceman. I’m a bit more on board now than I was before.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Scarlet Witch #7 for a really fun, creative, done-in-one story.
Meanwhile, it’s a new world, friends. I have put Tears of the Kingdom behind me and have started Baldur’s Gate 3! Tannenbaum, my half-orc bard, is living the good life. Adventure is his! Let us hope I can make it all the way through this game. Also, I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and I’ll have a review up on Wednesday.
Comic Reviews: Astonishing Iceman #1, Fantastic Four #10, Justice Society of America #5, Scarlet Witch #7 and X-Men #25.
