Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/19/26
Comics! You love’em. I love’em. What’s not to love? Especially when we’ve got some solid bangers like Wonder Woman and Batwoman to celebrate this week.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #19 for a pretty much perfect comic, kicking off the big new storyline with style and pizzazz.
Meanwhile, the Museum of the Uncanny Kickstarter campaign is in its final week! They’ve got a ways to go to hit their goal, but I know they can do it and I know you lovely readers will check out the campaign and give some support to some indie comic creators! That’s what we’re all about!
Double meanwhile, I splurged and bought myself Crimson Desert and I’m definitely enjoying the game. I still feel like I’m taking it slow, considering everything I’m seeing online. But it’s a fun action RPG with a big open world to explore! Beyond that, I’m enjoying Daredevil: Born Again, enjoying Maul: Shadow Lord and the season 3 finale of Shrinking was wonderful.
Comic Reviews: Absolute Batman #19, Batwoman #2 and Wonder Woman #32.

I have no memory permanence that a live action Street Fighter trailer is coming out later this year. But a new, full trailer dropped today, and holy cow, this might be one of my most anticipated movies of the year now. This trailer is just a big, fun, silly love letter to the games, and I am here for it!
That was just so much fun! It embraces the silly nature of the characters and franchise, while establishing a groundswell of actual serious storytelling underneath. That’s perfect! We focus on the fighting tournament, on some character growth, and by the end they have to come together to stop fascism!
Mortal Kombat wishes it had a movie like that coming out this year.
Street Fighter looks to be a blast and is coming to theaters on Oct. 16.

Godzilla Minus Zero, Baby!
Godzilla Minus One was a masterpiece and now there’s a sequel coming. Because why not? Because hell yeah! Here’s our first look at Godzilla Minus Zero.
Godzilla vs. the Statue of Liberty?! Sounds reasonable to me! His second favorite place after Tokyo is definitely New York City. Maybe this is a direct remake of the 90s, American Godzilla! Or maybe it won’t be that. Who knows. We’re just gonna have to wait and see when the times comes.
Godzilla Minus Zero is coming to theaters on Nov. 6!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/11/26
Welcome back to the world of comics, party people! Mostly a quiet week for comics this week, I think, but we’ve got some strong issues of Iron Man and Power Rangers Prime.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Fury of Firestorm #1 for a very strong, very exciting first issue!
Meanwhile, my pals at Very Big Comics are humming along nicely with their Museum of the Uncanny Kickstarter. Check them out, they do good work and make good comics! I promise you won’t be disappointed. It’s a collection of spooky and fascinating short comic stories and could use all the love it can get!
Comic Reviews: Fury of Firestorm #1, Iron Man #4 and Power Rangers Prime #16.
Read the rest of this entryIt’s Possible We Never Get an Actual Punisher Adaptation
After appearing in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, the Punisher is going to get his own special presentation in a couple of months. Jon Bernthal is one of the creative minds behind this mini-movie, and we’ve got our first trailer. It’s gonna be called The Punisher: One Last Kill.
Why is it so hard to just make a show or movie or special presentation where the Punisher kills bad dudes? Where he dresses in his costume and kills sex traffickers and we all cheer? And there’s a little existential dread, but not too much?
I dunno. This looks fine. Should be fun. I’ll watch whatever they put out. Just somebody make an adaptation of The Slavers, dammit!
The Punisher: One Last Kill comes to Disney+ on May 12…which is only a single month away! Great!
