Let’s Get Honest About Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Honestly, this is one of the greatest, coolest movies of all time!
And yeah, the Screen Junkies are always on point with their criticism. But man, this movie was so good, you guys! I’m still shocked it did so poorly at the box office. What were peoples’ problems? Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was exciting, musical and fun. And I liked the movie better than the comics! There, I said it.

It probably underperformed because it came out at the same time as The Expendables.
I loved the movie. I do prefer the comics – SO GODDAMN GOOD! – but the movie was great, and deserved to do better. I think it was just too weird for mainstream audiences.
The comics are better, though. The journeys of the characters work so much better. Scott does learn to be a better person. So does Ramona. And Knives grows out of her obsession with Scott (and makes out with Kim, which is, you know, OK then). Though, mad props to Winstead for the scene where she lists a bunch of types of tea. That was legitimately amazing.
I don’t remember what I didn’t particularly like about the comics. I just dunno. But I know I liked that the movie was just more compact, and used that strength for a better movie.
