The Boys Presents: Diabolical Is Available Now!

The third season of The Boys is still a couple of months away, so the showrunners and Amazon decided to fill that time with a crazy, violent, anthology cartoon series called The Boys Presents: Diabolical. Here’s the trailer.

I think I heard in an interview that this is supposed to be like the Animatrix. It’s a bunch of shorts that further flesh out the world of The Boys, and all the violent and crude superhero stuff that happens. I haven’t seen it yet, because I’m posting this in the morning and need to get to work. But it’s definitely on my slate for this weekend!

And So the Wait Continues for The Boys Season 2

I’m currently in the middle of watching the second season of The Umbrella Academy and it’s great! Very much enjoying this show. So how about the other really cool, stylish, live action streaming show based on a comic book? The Boys returns to Amazon Prime on Sept. 4!

Looks great! Obviously, The Boys has gone way off the rails from the comic, and I am perfectly fine with that. The Boys TV show is telling it’s own story. I’m not so beholden to the source material that I’m going to be bitter. The show is a fun use of the characters and concept.

The Boys and Umbrella Academy are Getting Second Seasons!

Yesterday, as if gifting me direct content for this blog on a lazy Thursday, both The Umbrella Academy and The Boys came out with trailers for their upcoming second seasons. I enjoy both shows! And both are based on comic books! So it all fits! I’m a lucky guy.

The Umbrella Academy comes back first on July 31 on Netflix.

The Boys returns to Amazon Prime on Sept. 4.

What’s not to love? They both had great first seasons and can only get better from here!

The Boys Begins Today!

We live in a world where Garth Ennis’ The Boys has a live action TV show. And it arrives on the Amazon Prime TV service today! I have such newfound respect for Seth Rogen, who I already loved, who uses his fame and wealth to turn awesome comics into hopefully awesome TV shows!

The Boys was a really good comic, even great at times. I’m excited to see it translated to television. I enjoy Preacher and my hopes are high for The Boys. It’s just a shame it took this long to get made, and Simon Pegg couldn’t play Wee Hughie.

The Boys TV Show Looks Gnarly

We’re not only living in the golden age of superhero movies, we’re also living in the golden age of comic book TV shows. I really enjoyed The Boys, and I’m a big fan of writer Garth Ennis. So I’m very excited for the upcoming Amazon TV show adaptation!

Looks like they’re really going for it! I kind of like the idea that Seth Rogan is using all of his wealth and power to make fun TV shows about his favorite comics!

The Boys arrives on July 26.
