Star Wars is Getting a Full Anime

I still need to go back and watch the third season of Star Wars: Visions. I’m sure it’s just as quality as the first two seasons. But regardless, one storyline from the first and third seasons is getting turned into a full series anime: Star Wars: The Ninth Jedi.

Looks like it could be fun! So many of those Visions shorts could be full series, in my opinion. But I’m sure they’ve cooked up something fun with The Ninth Jedi. I’m a little worried at how closely it just apes existing Star Wars iconography — like the Darth Vader, the planet killer weapon and the little droid sidekicks — but I’m sure they’ve got something clever up their sleaves. At least I hope they do!

Star Wars: The Ninth Jedi comes to Disney+ on Aug. 5!

Also, check out my rankings of the first season and second season of Star Wars: Visions. And remind me to go watch the third season one of these days…definitely in time for Ninth Jedi.

Star Wars: Visions is Coming Back!

We got a new trailer late last week for a new season of Star Wars: Visions, which is pretty darn awesome. This is the anthology show where they let a bunch of international animation studios, especially those that work on anime, do some out-of-continuity Star Wars adventures. So lightsabers and spaceships and the Empire and all that good stuff, but in short little cartoons. They’ve been a blast so far!

I couldn’t tell from the trailer, but I’ve heard that some of my favorite bits from season one are going to get sequels in this new season. That’s pretty cool! And then we’ll have more original cartoons. It’s all very fun and exciting.

Season three of Star Wars: Visions comes to Disney+ on Oct. 29.

Outta Nowhere, It’s the First Trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu!

Here we go, baby! It’s the first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the movie spin-off from The Mandalorian TV show. The name is still a mouthful, but whatever, I am here for it! I am someone who enjoyed the third season of The Mandalorian and still enjoys most Star Wars content.

And this trailer looks neat! It looks like a big, dumb Star Wars fan service-filled vanity project, but…I don’t care. If Disney and Star Wars wanna keep throwing money at big projects like this, I’ll keep watching. Does Disney suck for cancelling Jimmy Kimmel? Absolutely! But I’m gonna watch what I wanna watch, and that includes this big, dumb movie!

The Mandalorian and Grogu comes to theaters on May 22.

We Got An Andor Season 2 Trailer, Baby!

The second season of Andor is apparently right around the corner! We knew it was coming. The hype is real. Season 1 was a friggin’ masterpiece, and season 2 will have a lot to do. So how about we settle in and enjoy this new trailer?

Looks great! Love the song choice. Love the look of everybody. Love the snippets of dialogue. This one is gonna be good, people. We’re gonna be feasting on good TV this year. Daredevil: Born Again starts next week. We’ve got the second season of The Last of Us coming out soon, too. And now Andor at the end of April. Hot damn!

Andor season 2 comes to Disney+ on April 22.

6 Thoughts on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (Review)

More than a week has passed since the final episode of Skeleton Crew, and it’s sad how little of an impact this show has had on pop culture. I guess not a lot of people were watching? Which is a damn shame, because Skeleton Crew is a great show that had a lot of fun in the Star Wars universe! I had a blast!

TV Show Rating: 9/10 – Great

Like everyone else, I find Star Wars TV to be hit and miss. I haven’t outright hated any show, but wasn’t too impressed with Ahsoka or Obi-Wan Kenobi. I had no idea what to expect with Skeleton Crew when it was announced and teased for years; I barely paid any attention. But that first trailer piqued my interest and I’m happy to have watched every episode week-by-week. This is one of the good ones!

Join me after the jump for my full thoughts/review of Skeleton Crew. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole season. And feel free to share your own in the comments below!
