Check Out TV’s Ghost Rider!

As we heard some time ago, Ghost Rider is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Makes sense. That show could use a shot in the arm, and a real comic superhero could definitely provide! Plus, I don’t think Ghost Rider would fit into the Netflix shows. And it would be a real stretch to find room for him in the movies. Plus, I’m pretty sure society holds up the Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider movies as godlike, amiright? Something like that…

Anyway, here is our first look at Gabriel Luna as the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider!

Let's just assume the flame skulls will be added later

Let’s just assume the flame skulls will be added later

Looks cool as far as I’m concerned. I approve of Agents‘ choice of the Robbie Reyes version. Johnny Blaze and the rest are cool, but Robbie Reyes can be cool, too. He’s got a lot of good story to work with, even if his comic didn’t exactly pan out. I think a lot can be done with him.

I just hope Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn’t make him an Inhuman. That would be terrible.

Welp, Looks Like I’m Going Broke on Spider-Man LEGOs This Year

Toy Fair is rocking New York City this weekend, with all manner of cool toys and action figures on display. I need to go to Toy Fair some day, but sadly, not today. Thankfully, there Internet is here to show us what we’re missing, and it turns out that I’m probably going to be spending a lot of money on LEGOs this year. Specifically, Spider-Man LEGOs.

More specifically, there’s this bridge playset that features mini-figs of both the Scorpion, one of my favorite Spider-Man villains, and the Scarlet Spider, with whom my entire comics collection is partially indebted. You guys have no idea the depths to which I collect Scarlet Spider merchandise.

Ultimate Spider-Woman is awesome too

The playset itself is pretty awesome. I usually prefer vehicles, but that is a pretty confident looking section of bridge. Plus those characters are too good to pass up. Perhaps I could find them solo for far less money, but at this stage of the game, let’s pretend I’m a millionaire. Scarlet freakin’ Spider as a LEGO, that’s just mind-blowing. That’s the sort of thing my brother and I literally dreamed about as kids.

Check out the rest after the jump!

Everything Wrong With That Crappy Ghost Rider Sequel

I can still remember being excited for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance when I saw a panel for it at Comic-Con. Alas.

Good thing Cinema Sins is here to have some fun with this flick. And if you liked this video, you can check out Everything Wrong With the first Ghost Rider too! And now we just need to sit and wait for the Ant-Man video to come out. Along with the Honest Trailer and the How It Should Have Ended. Only then can we truly appreciate movies!

Superhero naming conventions are getting ridiculous

Dorkly.com adds yet another amazing parody, with a very good point about superhero names in the Marvel universe. Enjoy!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/17/14

It’s Godzilla Day, my friends! I’ll be off to see the movie before the night is over, and I can’t wait! The Big Guy has been smashing his way through my brain all week. Will it live up to the hype? Will Godzila once again be the ruler of all cinema? What’s that you’re saying? Godzilla isn’t even a comic book? And this is a comic book review article?

Well you’ve got me there!

Plenty of good and plenty of crummy comics this week. For one thing, I learned that I need to start reading Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers and New Avengers again. I also very nearly worked up the energy to read Superman: Doomed…but that didn’t happen. Ain’t nobody got time for dat.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Ghost Rider #3 because it was just the funnest comic of the week, despite a few flaws inherent to the title as a whole. Though Moment of the Week has to go to Captain Marvel #3 and Kelly Sue DeConnick’s continued attempts to turn Carol Danvers into the coolest superhero ever. Cool, but rude, that is.

Carol may just be the best superhero ever. She can make children cry!

Comic Reviews: All-New Ghost Rider #3, All-New X-Men #27, Batman Eternal #6, Captain Marvel #3, Justice League United #1 and Nightcrawler #2.

You can also check out my reviews of Avengers #29 and Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1.
