Behold Your Big Hero 6!

It’s still hard to believe that Disney is going to make an animated movie out of Big Hero 6 – but a slew of new character posters confirm everything! I know next to nothing about the comic book Big Hero 6, so I have no idea how accurate these designs are. But then comic book accuracy means absolutely nothing. All that matters is that these characters and this movie are cool.

Check them out – and join me in giggling at their names!

I bet Wasabi No-Ginger is going to be the breakout character of the year.

6 Thoughts on the First Season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been over for a few weeks now, and I would have done this list sooner, but Godzilla and X-Men: Days of Future Past had to be addressed (and both were entertaining movies). I’ve come to the general conclusion that I don’t think I would be a very good TV reviewer. I don’t have the time or energy to really tackle each episode when it airs, and I’m pretty subjective when it comes to TV. So in order to tackle these popular shows, I like to wrap up my thoughts in a List of Six.

Expect my thoughts on the second season for Arrow next week. And today, let’s talk about the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.!

What a pain in the butt title to have to write out

First things first, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t live up to the hype. There’s no way around it. This was billed as a TV tie-in to the amazing Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Joss Whedon himself, and the hype was through the roof last Summer. But I think we can all agree that the show just didn’t measure up. But I stuck with it every week and saw every episode, and I’m going to be tuning in next season. So you better believe I have some thoughts.

Join me after the jump! Also, expect FULL SPOILERS for the entire first season.

First Big Hero Six Teaser Teases Nothing!

The first trailer for the first Marvel/Disney animated mash-up hit the Internet today, and while the animation looks great, the trailer really is just a cute little tease.

Big Hero 6 is the first collaboration between Marvel Comics and Disney’s animation studio, which produced Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph. Rather than make an animated movie about one of Marvel’s more popular superheroes, Disney picked Big Hero 6, a relatively unknown team of Japanese superheroes. The little boy in the trailer is probably Hiro Takachiho, if the movie bothers to use the actual Big Hero 6 characters from the comic. Who knows! not many details have been released, and the trailer doesn’t release anything more…but it sure is adorable!

How Frozen Should Have Ended

I always love a good Iceman joke.

Though personally, I would have ended Frozen way differently. I liked the movie, sure, but what really bugged me was the romance angle. Obviously, that rich duke guy was evil; we knew it from the very first moment he appeared on screen. But for a little while, I kind of hoped he was going to be legit. His evil turn kind of comes out of nowhere. I thought for sure that Anna would end up with the rich duke and that the lumpy lumberjack guy would end up with Elsa.

But the moment the lumpy lumberjack started racing back to town with Anna, determined to get her to her ‘one true love’, the rest of the film was pretty obvious and painfully predictable. Alas, poor Frozen.

Also, what was up with the trailers having no idea what the movie was about?

Spell Block Tango

We love Disney movies around here, so when an American Idol finalist makes a catchy song parody starring Disney villains, you can bet we’re going to get on that! Even if only because I really like the song ‘Cell Block Tango’ from Chicago.

The film was made by Todrick Hall, who also made the amazing Beauty and the Beat video from a few months ago. Now he and the What the Funny comedy company made themselves another amazing parody song, and I’m always down with that kind of creativity. I hope this guy keeps up the good work!
