There’s a New South Park Game?

I’m a huge fan of South Park, and a huge fan of the the recent South Park video games, The Stick of Truth and the Fractured But Whole. Those were amazing role-playing games, with some great character customization and storytelling, and just a wonderful use of the whole town. Well now there’s going to be a third and it looks totally different…but also still in line with it?

I just don’t know. The switch to 3D graphics is bugging me. Why change the absolutely perfect, show-accurate art style of the first two games? And now it’s a multi-player action game? Eeeeeh. Not a fan. But I suppose we’ll see. Maybe they’ll make another great game!

South Park: Snow Day comes out in March, possibly.

6 Thoughts on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off

I was all prepared to do a review/List of Six this week on the second season of Loki. It was a good season, and despite the failure of The Marvels at the box office, I remain a diehard MCU fan. But then I watched Scott Pilgrim Takes Off over the weekend and I just need to tell you about it!

TV Show Review: 10/10 – Fantastic!

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is now playing on Netflix, so go and watch it! The show is produced by original comic creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, with assistance, and it’s so damn good! I don’t want to give anything away in this opening blurb. I was always going to watch this anime, because why not? But now that I have seen it all, I’m going to sing it’s praises as much as possible, because it’s such a damn fun show! And a damn fine follow-up to the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie from years ago, which I did and still do love completely. I’m not a major fan of the comics, but all the adaptations have so far been stellar!

Join me after the jump for my review/thoughts on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole show. And feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments below.

DC Trailer Tuesday

Last week we had Marvel Trailer Thursday, and now we’ve got DC Trailer Tuesday. DC is not about to be undone. They’ve got their own movie and cartoon coming up. Fancy that.

First up is a new trailer for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

I’m definitely looking forward to this one. I very much enjoyed the first Aquaman movie. It was a big, wild and crazy mess of a movie. And this sequel looks just as big and crazy. That should be fun, right? Will this movie defeat the superhero fatigue that killed The Marvels? I guess we’ll find out!

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom comes to theaters on Dec. 22.

Next up is a delightful new standalone cartoon movie, Merry Little Batman!

We’ve been hearing about this for months now, and this trailer is our first actual look at what the end product is going to be. I think it looks delightful! Funny, silly, with great voice acting; Merry Little Batman might be the sleeper hit of the season!

Merry Little Batman comes to Amazon Prime on Dec. 8.

Movie Trailer Monday

We’re back at the start of a new week, to share a couple of movie trailers I missed sharing this past week. There were probably more than these two, but these are apparently the two I bookmarked to share. I’m fun like that.

First up is a trailer for the new, animated Garfield cartoon, where Garfield is voiced by Chris Pratt. Man, everything about this trailer is soul crushing.

What are we doing as a society anymore? I guess we can all be happy for Chris Pratt that he’s still getting work. That’s a good thing, right? Do we still like Chris Pratt? He wasn’t that great as Mario…and, frankly, he doesn’t seem to be trying too hard as Garfield. I’m no Garfield apologist, but…eh?

The Garfield cartoon comes to theaters on May 24.

Next up is Inside Out 2, a sequel to a Pixar movie that didn’t require a sequel. But the world is as the world is.

I like the general idea. A bunch of new emotions that come with puberty? Sure! Granted, we didn’t see any of these other emotions when we peered into the heads of adults in the first film, but why let a little thing like continuity get in the way of a Pixar sequel? Gotta right this ship somehow.

Inside Out 2 comes to theaters in June.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/18/23

This was a real interesting week for comics. None of my regular titles came out, but there were several comics I had let fall by the wayside. So…I caught up and may return to reviewing the likes of Astonishing Iceman!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Fantastic Four #13 for an excellent dinosaur adventure.

Superheroes riding identical dinosaur versions of themselves?! How is this not a cartoon or an action figure line yet?

Meanwhile, I’m spending this weekend resisting the urge to buy Super Mario Bros. Wonder. I beat Spider-Man 2 and need a new game to play, but I also have other options besides spending $60 for that sweet new Mario game. It sure would be fun to play, though…

Comic Reviews: Astonishing Iceman #4, Fantastic Four #13 and Outsiders #1.
