Sorry for the Long Weekend, Here’s Everything Wrong with The Incredibles!

I love The Incredibles! It’s still my favorite Pixar movie. But Cinema Sins isn’t going to go easy on it!

Sorry about the long weekend! I was at the Boston Comic-Con, spreading the good word about my comic, Gamer Girl & Vixen. It was a nice trip, met some great people, and I love comics even more now! Good times all around!

Also, tune in later today for the first full trailer for the Deadpool movie!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/1/15

Greetings from nearly the Boston Comic-Con! Since these reviews are being posted on Saturday morning, I’m most likely sitting at my desk at work, plugging away and counting down the minutes until I can slip away. Then I’ll be off to the lovely Boston area to hang out with friends and revel in my comic book geekness! Then on Sunday, I’ll be at the Con, passing out flyers for Gamer Girl & Vixen and hopefully having a blast!

But until then, comics! Unfortunately, since it’s a ‘fifth week’, we’ve got a pretty short stack. Nothing from Marvel, a little dip over at Valiant and then two separate Batgirl books!

Batgirl #42 wins Comic Book of the Week for an awesome team up between father and daughter.

The Bat-Family’s current status quo is awesome!

And over at Word of the Nerd, I took a look at the latest issue of Star Wars, which is a fun little peek into the life of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine. If you’re a Star Wars fan, it’s a darn good read!

Comic Reviews: Batgirl #42, Batgirl Annual #3 and Ninjak #5.

We Started the Week With Some Awesome Music, Lets End the Week the Same Way!

This one is for all the fans of David Grohl and the Foo Fighters! Some dude in Italy put together a 1,000-person rock band to play a massive cover of ‘Learn to Fly’. Since I love the song, let’s enjoy us some rock and/or roll!

That was pretty awesome! I especially enjoyed all the in-sync drummers. Now let’s all make this a Rock & Roll weekend! Personally, I’m off to Boston Comic-Con! Woohoo!

This Takes Time, Dedication and a Probably a Bunch of Arts & Crafts!

Kudos to the CineFix people for the neat stuff they make, like this homemade Ant-Man trailer!

Sometimes I wish my job involved being awesome and zany on the Internet. This blog isn’t nearly zany enough sometimes! But man, just look at all the work that had to have gone into this thing. The costumes, the sets, the actors, the neat little details. Why aren’t my friends or co-workers more into zany arts & crafts?

My 6 Favorite Superhero Movie Costumes

Once upon a time, it was not cool to be a superhero movie. Nowadays, people are gushing about Spider-Man’s next cinematic costume at Marvel, and movie-makers are promising that the X-Men in their new Apocalypse film are going to wear comics-accurate costumes. But back in the day, superhero costumes were too dorky to wear! Do you all remember the original X-Men movie and the matching black leather? That’s what you needed to have to make a superhero movie before they were cool.

Thank God we don’t live in that sort of world anymore!

They were indeed dark days

I have long since given up being a stickler about comic-to-movie adaptations. I’m actually in favor of changes, cosmetic or otherwise, as long as it’s a good movie. I didn’t mind the all-leather X-Men costumes, or that weird homemade costume in the first Amazing Spider-Man, or even the original red leather Daredevil costume. But like everybody else, I’ve got my favorites!

Join me after the jump to see my six favorite superhero (or villain) costumes at the movies!
