Hold Out Hope for the Bloodshot Movie
The last time we saw a trailer for Bloodshot, I was excited for a Valiant Cinematic Universe. Since then, I think I’ve read that those plans are cancelled and Valiant is going in a different direction. That’s a shame. It looks like Vin Diesel is out on a limb on his own…
I don’t really know how the movie looks. OK? Obviously very action-packed. And Bloodshot looks pretty cool once he’s in his proper colors. And…look, I’m going to keep my hopes up. It would be fun if Valiant had some success and get got more of these!
Bloodshot comes out on March 13!

BoJack Horseman is Ending; I am Not Ready
The TV show BoJack Horseman will come to an end on Jan. 31 with the final batch of episodes. I don’t think I’m ready. BoJack Horseman is probably my favorite TV show of the past few years, and is easily in my Top 5 of all time. It’s both hilarious and emotionally dramatic. A perfect balance!
And it looks like the ending is going to keep the stakes very high.
I don’t know how this is going to end. I’ve read and heard some fan theories, and perhaps I have some of my own. But I don’t want to know what happens in advance. I don’t want any spoilers. I want to just sit back and let it wash over me and hopefully I’ll be happy and at peace with the ending.
This is a damn good show!

My 6 Favorite Teen Superheroes
New this week, Marvel Comics has announced their Outlawed storyline, in which teenage superheroes will be outlawed by the federal government. Oddly, this will lead to a whole new relaunch of a bunch of teen superhero comics, like Champions, New Warriors, Power Pack and potentially more! It’s as if they didn’t even hear the new law!
I think it’s an interesting storyline idea and I wish Marvel all the best in seeing it through! And it got me thinking about my favorite teen superheroes. There have been a lot over the years, but as I looked over the lists I found online, I realized my own favorites list was pretty small. I discovered that I haven’t really been a big fan of teenage superheroes over the years. I’m a fan of a lot of young adult, early-20s, college-aged superheroes like Squirrel Girl or the Slingers. But teens? It’s a short, tight list!
Join me after the jump for my favorite teenage superheroes! And feel free to share your own favorites in the comments!
The Morbius Movie Actually Exists!
So much for basic human doubt! Those mad lads at Sony have actually gone through with the impossible! They’ve made an actual Morbius movie! My mind can barely wrap around the very concept of this movie. Morbius?! Really?!
Yep, that’s definitely a Morbius movie. They say his name and everything. And the title is Morbius! The movie doesn’t look good. Honestly, it looks good up until they start getting into the superhero stuff. The idea that a scientist turns to homemade vampirism to cure his incurable disease is kind of interesting…but then it transitions into just another superhero movie. Word has it that the villain is just going to be another dude who takes the same serum and gets the same powers, and Morbius realizes he has to use his identical powers to stop him.
That’s boring! But such will be the Morbius movie when it comes out on July 31!
Oh, and hey, did you catch the Michael Keaton cameo at the end? Personally, I thought it was just a callback to his role as Batman, seeing how much Morbius is some kind of “bat-man”. But then I was reminded that he played the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, another Spidey villain. That could be a very interesting crossover. Very interesting indeed!
Far more interesting than a Morbius movie.

Leah Williams is Bringing Back the Blob (Sort of) For a New X-Factor!
Look, I’m a friendly guy. I like people. I like getting along with people. I write this blog for fun and don’t have a mean bone in my body when it comes to comics. But apparently I’ve done something to anger the comic book gods, because now it seems that Dawn of X is going out of its way to target me and everything I specifically love about the X-Men.
A new X-Factor comic has been announced for April, written by Leah Williams, with art by David Baldeon.

You’ll notice that lineup on the front cover…and you’ll notice there’s no Multiple Man. The one character who is most closely connected to the X-Factor brand and he doesn’t get to be involved. Sigh. I can’t help but take that personally.
Instead of Multiple Man, this series will focus on this new team — Northstar, Polaris, Daken, Eye-Boy, Prodigy and Prestige — assisting The Five, the resurrection mutants. This new X-Factor will investigate and confirm mutant deaths and all the various rules around the resurrection protocols…which sounds good. I am fully in favor of comics that actually explore the new Krakoan status quo.
There is one really hopeful thing that I didn’t see at first until I finally read through the actual announcement article on Polygon. I was worried that Leah Williams’ arrival in Dawn of X wasn’t going to feature the Blob after her stellar turn with the character in Age of X-Man.
Williams told Polygon that the Blob will indeed be a part of this new X-Factor!
“His new role (thanks to Ben Percy and Josh Cassara!) is perfect,” Williams said, “and gives Freddy a bigger path threading through all our books.”
OK, I can accept that. I will gladly trade a Multiple Man appearance for Williams continuing her work on rehabilitating the Blob.
Williams also mentioned that her series will focus a lot on Northstar and his human husband Kyle, and what life is like for Kyle on Krakoa. She said they’re going to explore more about humans on Krakoa. That could include the Mimic! I’ll get my hopes up about that.
But for now, I’m just excited that Leah Williams is indeed returning to the Blob! Even if just as a subplot!
X-Factor #1 arrives in April.
