The Only Thing That Really Matters About the New Mortal Kombat X is That It Won’t Have Smoke
The kombatant Smoke is my all-time favorite video game character. So you can imagine how excited I was for his prominent role in the last Mortal Kombat game, that big reboot one. It was awesome. Well the sequel, Mortal Kombat X, is set some 25 years in the future…and I think he’s supposed to be dead…so I’m not as excited about this game.
Of course, there’s also the fact that I don’t own any consoles that can play Mortal Kombat X, and I’m still saving up for a better computer. So I’m stuck just admiring how badass the trailer looks. At least I’ll always have that.

My 6 Favorite Things of 2014
Attention young people who read my blog, let me make one thing perfectly clear: when adults say that time flies when you’re older, they are 100% right! Jeez louise, I can’t believe 2014 is already over! Where the heck did the year go? How did I get this old?! What the heck did I do with myself?
All griping aside, how about we look back and share our favorite things form 2014?
The problem with that, however, is that I can’t really remember everything I did in 2014! I have no idea what I was into last March! That was a forever ago (even though it feels like only yesterday). Was there anything to enjoy in 2014? Or was it just one big slog of depression? If you join me after the jump, we can find out together!
My 6 Favorite Points of Lore Interest in World of Warcraft
The invasion of the Iron Horde is upon us! Two years after Pandaria became a reality (squee!), the latest World of Warcraft expansion has dropped, bringing with it time travel, alternate realities, and a deep appreciation for the history of the Warcraft franchise.
Unfortunately, I won’t be joining the millions of gamers quite yet – my money is needed elsewhere, like bills. But hopefully it won’t be too long before I’m back questing and raiding against the Warlords of Draenor!
Being the huge Warcraft geek that I am, I’ve decided to celebrate the new release with a list about one of my favorite topics: Warcraft Lore. For those who don’t know, the wildly popular World of Warcraft MMORPG is based upon a whole series of wartime strategy games that came out in the 90s, games that I and my family grew up playing. But Blizzard, the company behind Warcraft, didn’t just build WoW up from scratch. Instead, the developers used the world, the characters and the storyline from those early strategy games to design World of Warcraft. And as someone who grew up with those strategy games, being able to continue that story in WoW is one of my favorite parts of the game.
Join me after the jump to see what I mean, and check out six of my favorite bits of Warcraft Lore that made it into World of Warcraft!
The Myth of the Silencer
It’s time to take you all to school on this Friday! We’re all movie and video game fans here, right? So we’re all pretty familiar with gun silencers – well we don’t know anything!
That was definitely interesting to learn! Though I suppose it’s disappointing to find out that another aspect of our pop culture is completely wrong, and the world we’ve been lead to believe exists is just one of myth and fairy tale. I bet RagnarRox‘s next video is going to be about how mushrooms don’t make us grow into giants!
Internet Like This Makes Me Giddy!
Behold the glory of the Avengers/Nintendo mash-up!
That Hulk reveal? Totally worth it! James Farr and company make these parodies all the time, and they’re all glorious. The animation is slick, the video game references are off the chain; this is just a great way to start a Monday!
