Sean Ian Mills is Back in the Proving Grounds!
Good news, everybody! Remember back in September, when I submitted a comic script to Comix Tribe and The Proving Grounds? Well they dinged me over the coals pretty good, but it was all constructive criticism. And your boy, me, took it to heart and rewrote the opening scene of my next comic project, Forever Blue!
Check out my return to the Proving Grounds for Forever Blue!
If you’ll recall, Forever Blue is a Firefly meets Voltron story of a galaxy-weary space outlaw who has to get her old Power Rangers squad back together to save the day. If anybody’s interested, I can share some more back story stuff.
And my Gamer Girl & Vixen artist, Gemma Moody, was kind enough to draw up a character design of the main Forever Blue character, Tameron Dackard.
She’s working one more for me, and I’ll definitely be trying to get more done on the project in the new year. So stay tuned, and maybe someday I’ll have some more good news for everybody!

I Assume My Co-Workers Spent Their Holiday Bonus on Something More Practical
My company handed out the annual Holiday/Christmas bonus last week, and I kind of went a little overboard with mine. I assume my co-workers were probably more responsible with the money…but not me.
This was why I had such a good day on Wednesday. This is the ultimate holiday splurge. I feel like a kid in a toy store…which is literally what happened.
Recently, my office has been handing out Christmas bonuses as pre-paid, universal gift cards. The responsible, adult thing to do would be to maybe spend that money on groceries or bills. But for the first time in a few years, I’m not flat broke at Christmas, so I’m not clutching at a Christmas bonus like some desperate lifesaver.
So boom, free money! Retail therapy!
I went to Toys R Us looking for a big, expansive LEGO set. I’ve never had a big, expansive LEGO set. I kind of imagine that they’re awesome. But there just weren’t many good ones available. Maybe the new Force Awakens Millennium Falcon, or the Star Destroyer, but both of those were actually more than my Christmas bonus.
When it comes to LEGOs, I prefer vehicle models over playsets. Give me the Batmobile over the Batcave any day. Vehicles are one, solid, clear object. Playsets are whatever the LEGO designers feel like designing.
So there I was, scouring the LEGO wall at Toys R Us, and two of the greatest recent models jump out at me. I don’t know when I’ll get around to building them, but it’s going to be a blast. Sometimes I love being a geek.

6 Places I Want to Visit Someday
It’s been a week since I got back from London, and I can say in hindsight that the trip was really fun. We went on the Harry Potter Studio Tour, checking out the sets, costumes and props from the movies. We took an open-bus tour of all the major landmarks. We ate fish & chips in a British pub. It was a hoot. It was also the first time I’ve traveled internationally (Canada doesn’t count). For this week’s List of Six, I’ve decided to share some of the other places I’d like to visit in my lifetime.
I don’t travel much. That’s partly by choice. I like where I am. I’m also largely broke, and money is usually a big part of traveling. But hey, a fella can dream, right? Isn’t that the point of owning and writing in a blog? To dream the impossible dreams and write about them? Someday I’ll be rich and handsome and will be able to travel the world. And these are the six places I want to visit!
Feel free to share some of your own dream destinations in the comments!
Halloween is for Cool Kids!
Hi everybody! I know it’s the day before Halloween, but most people in my office don’t work tomorrow, so we’re holding Halloween today. As such, I thought I’d share with all you fine henchies my ‘costume’ for this year, if you could call it that. If I was rich and good at cosplay, I’d probably go as a different henchman each year…but I think I did alright this year!
Happy Halloween, everybody!

My 6 Favorite Stand-Up Comedians Working Today
What do you do when you have to take a long drive on your own? Me personally, I listen to stand-up comedians to pass the time. They’re always good for a laugh, and there are a lot of great CDs out there to choose from. You’ve got the classics, like George Carlin, and new guys, like Aziz Ansari. There’s also the added benefit of their voices sounding like there’s someone else in the car. Oh, the crushing loneliness…
Nah, it’s not really like that, I promise. But ever since I started buying comedy albums, I’ve taken on a new appreciation for today’s stand-up comics. I’ve also discovered some really great talent, and I thought I’d take this week to share. Maybe next week I’ll get back to talking about superheroes…although this group would make a pretty great superhero team. Join me after the jump for my six favorite stand-up comedians, plus a few honorable mentions! Read the rest of this entry
