Cosplay is Hot, Miley Cyrus is Not So Much
Stage 5 has produced an epic Miley Cyrus song parody about cosplaying. Good times.
I love me a good geeky music parody. This one is from Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop music video. Clearly this geeky comic-con cosplay parody is much better than the original. And watching this video is probably the closest I’ve ever come to listening to a Miley Cyrus song.
Speaking of cosplay, I’ll be heading to the Boston Comic-Con in early August and dressing up as an X-Men character. Any of my readers going to Boston Comic-Con this year?
Game of Thrones Musical Medley!
We started the day with a Game of Thrones-based List of Six, so how about we continue it with some Game of Thrones-themed fan songs?
First up is ‘A Character I Used to Know’ from the girls at Not Literally.
I’m a big fan of this group. They wrote some awesome Harry Potter-themed songs that I posted a few years ago, and this new Game of Thrones song is delightful. Those are some quality babes.
Next up is ‘Rage of Thrones’ by the Axis of Awesome, who are a great comedy band. Warning, though, lots of swears and naughty words in this one. Protect your ears if you are able.
I’ve read the first two books, and yeah, they’re pretty darn good.
Final Dance Fantasy
Let’s start our Monday right with some Final Fantasy-inspired song and dance!
I always enjoy a good, rhythmic dance routine. If only those Step Up 2 the Streets movies used video game themes. Thick of the cross geek promotion! This video was made by Mike Song, though if I’m being honest, it probably could have used more beautiful women. Or maybe a whole army of dudes.
Tobuscus Delivers and I Missed It
One of my favorite Internet funnymen is Tobuscus, a Youtube star with a lot of hilarious videos. His best are the Literal Trailer videos, where he sings a song using the trailer theme music that basically just described, literally, what’s happening in the trailer. He did a great one for Hitman: Absolution.
Unfortunately, I don’t keep up with him, because I refuse to give in to all the peer pressure to ‘subscribe’ to Youtube channels. I know it’s important to the people that produce those videos, but I don’t believe in peer pressure. All this means that I’ve missed a few of his Literal Trailer videos, so I’ve decided to get everybody as caught up as I am. Here we go!
First up: Falling Skies, which is actually some kind of TV show. Looks pretty cool.
Then there’s his Literal Trailer for Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire. Also fun.
So if you’re looking for some funny Internet music, check out Tobuscus!
Batman’s Reply to Aquaman’s Lament
The song Aquaman’s Lament by artist Mark Aaron James is one of the coolest things I have ever posted on my blog. I still go back and listen to it now and again because it’s just a fun, catchy, geeky song. Well it turns out that James is a friend of the site, and he let me know that he made a sequel song called Batman’s Reply!
I couldn’t find a music video of it yet, but you can give the song a listen by CLICKING HERE. I think it’s pretty great. It’s good to know there are people this creative and this geeky out there in the world.
