Literal Iron Man 3 Trailer
Tobuscus is at it again with a Literal Iron Man 3 trailer! His videos have become some of the favorite music parodies I’ve ever posted on my blog!
Is that man a genius or what? I don’t know how well his songs actually match up to the music in the trailers, but I have to assume it’s good. He’s a lyrical master. I wish he produced more of these more often, I’d post every single one. Plus, this somehow gets me even more excited for Iron Man 3! So that’s pretty neat.
The 6 Best Pop Culture Brothers
It was my brother’s birthday on Monday, and you may remember him from various comments he’s posted on my articles, or that one blog post he wrote about robots. I’ve tried to get him to write more posts, seeing as how he’s both funny and a good writer, but I guess he’s just got something better to do than help out his brother’s blog. It’s not like I’m providing a completely free and easy way to get his voice out to the masses or anything. But I digress. Today’s List of Six is his Happy Birthday present, because I’m a cheap schmuck.
So siblings are a thing. And like most things, they’ve worked their way into pop culture. Fancy that. But no, seriously, they’re everywhere! Pop culture and fiction especially like twins. But we’re not twins. We just look like twins. Other than his massive beard, of course. Several of the characters on this list have beards. So it all kind of comes full circle. Here are the 6 best brother pairs in pop culture!
The Ultimate Hobbit Trailer
Some genius has created a 7-minute trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. They’ve spliced together all the footage from the other trailers and TV spots! And it’s neat!
It’s a little long, and not as epic as the real trailers and TV spots. But it’s still fun to see something like this. A lot of people out there on the Internet have a lot of talent. And I love me some Internet talent.
6 Things I Want to See in the Next X-Men Sequel
We know that the next X-Men movie is going to be called ‘Days of Future Past’, and that it’s going to be directed by Bryan Singer. That’s pretty much all we know so far. But have we really already forgiven Singer for abandoning the X-Men franchise in order to make the crummy Superman Returns? I haven’t. Especially not after new director Matthew Vaughn did such an amazing job with X-Men: First Class. I loved that movie and I want to see more of Vaughn’s First Class world. But I’m not in charge of Hollywood – yet – so it looks like Singer is in the director’s chair and the next sequel begins filming next year-ish.
Let me first say that I think adapting ‘Days of Future Past’ is a bad idea. Dystopian futures, parallel dimensions and time travel may be staples of X-Men comics, but I just don’t think they’re going to translate as well on the big screen.
This is just my own personal preference, but when it comes to superhero movies, I strictly adhere to the ‘Keep It Simple Stupid’ rule. The comics are full of wild and weird stories like ‘Days of Future Past’, but that’s comics. We comic book fans are used to that kind of storytelling. I find that when it comes to movies, adding too many weird shenanigans just mucks up the whole show. It adds confusion for an audience that is already trying to keep up with all the different mutants on screen. People respond to the X-Men films because they have strong themes like acceptance of minorities and heroism. Adding time travel and parallel dimensions on top of that is just going to complicate the story.
But again, that’s just me. Maybe people will love it. And after the greatness of X-Men: First Class, I’m definitely in favor of more X-Men movies. Plus somebody requested this list. So here are 6 things I want to see in X-Men: Days of Future Past the motion picture.
Let’s Start Election Day Right – New Lincoln Trailer!
The new movie Lincoln comes out very soon, and to celebrate the day we vote for President, we have a new trailer!
This trailer has more in the way of the story. As I understand it, Lincoln isn’t going to be about the famous President’s entire life. It’s more going to be about his battle to crush slavery beneath his stove pipe boot. This trailer really fleshes out the rest of the cast, which looks to be stellar. Though I’m hoping Tommy Lee Jones actually becomes his role, instead of just Tommy Lee Jonsing things up.
