I’ll Believe’em When I See’em
Yesterday’s comic news cornucopia was abuzz with announcements of a Godzilla vs. Kong movie, a Y: The Last Man TV show and two official X-Men shows about Legion and the Hellfire Club. The news was everywhere.
But here’s the thing: I’ll believe’em when I see’em.
All of these announcements could be true…or they could just be the same type of announcement we always get. Where’s the Booster Gold TV show that was announced? Where are the Lobo and Metal Men and Justice League Dark movies that were announced? Where’s the Y: The Last Man movie that was announced?
The only project I actually believe will happen is Godzilla vs. Kong, but even then, I’m skeptical. These announcements happen all the time and few of them ever come to pass. So by all means, they can announce whatever they want. But let’s see them put their money where their announcements are!
Also, seriously, Legion and the Hellfire Club?! FOX has access to the entire X-Men library and they chose the two dumbest things to make shows out of? Where’s my X-Factor detective show, dammit?!

Jurassic World Wasn’t that Great, You Guys
Honestly. It was OK when I saw it, but in hindsight, it’s going downhill.
Honest Trailers nailed it with this video. So many perplexing questions and issues! But a movie like Jurassic World isn’t about logic, darn it! It’s about dinosaurs! Which again begs the question of why there aren’t more dinosaur movies. Does the Jurassic franchise own dinosaurs, or something?

How Ant-Man Should Have Ended!
Let’s keep this Ant-Man train rolling with everyone’s favorite: How It Should Have Ended!
This one was legit funny, and had a pretty solid nitpick about that tank. But once again, it relies a bit too much on the Batman/Superman cafe scene. I realize that the HISHE team loves those little scenes, but man, I’m gonna keep dinging them for it. I want to see them make fun of movies! Not revel in their Batman/Superman running gags. Is that too much to ask?!

The Ant-Man Sequel Will Co-Star the Wasp!
New York Comic-Con is this weekend, and the news has started swirling! First up is the announcement of the Ant-Man sequel, which will arrive on July 6, 2018. The bigger news is that the movie will be called Ant-Man and the Wasp! Evangeline Lilly will get to don her badass costume and help headline a movie! Hopefully this means she’ll also be included in the toyline, right Marvel?
I’m definitely excited about this. I loved the first Ant-Man, and knowing that a sequel is coming is big news – though I’m probably more excited to see him guest star alongside the other Avengers in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.
The sad news is that the Ant-Man sequel will have some major shake-ups for future Marvel movies. Captain Marvel is getting bumped from November 2018 to March 2019. That’s very disappointing news! I’d rather have that one come first. But also bad is that Black Panther is getting moved ahead to February 2018! Everybody knows that February is a deadzone for new movies! Why would Marvel ever release a movie in February?
Though I have noticed that more studios seem to be putting bigger movies in the January/February zone. The third Kung-Fu Panda is going to come out in that winter period. Surely that’s not expected to bomb, right? Are studios trying to reclaim the winter months?!

Cinema Sins Tries Really Hard to Ding WALL-E
WALL-E is probably one of the most perfect movies ever made – or not, I dunno, I’m not a film scholar. But it’s darn good. And the folks at Cinema Sins have their work cut out for them trying to pick it apart. They don’t succeed…but they get a few good zingers in.
There were one or two good points in there, but overall, swing and a miss. WALL-E is just too good, folks. Cinema Sins tried to acknowledge this, but then they went and tried to nit-pick it anyway. Reminds me that I should watch WALL-E again someday.
