6 More Potential Shows for the Arrow-Verse

Word hit the Internet this week that not only will the superhero Vixen be joining the same TV universe as Arrow and The Flash, but that producers are considering the Atom for their next spin-off. Clearly the people at Warner Bros. can recognize success, and they want to bank as much as possible on their winning superhero formula. Marvel is building a shared superhero universe in the movies, so it looks like DC is going to do the same on TV.

I’m all for it! I love both Arrow and The Flash, and I would love to see more heroes jump to the small screen. I think I’m even more excited for the potential of a small screen Justice League than I am for whatever big screen version that Warner Bros. is trying to develop.

This is totally gonna be a thing!

Beyond Arrow, The Flash and the new Vixen cartoon, there’s also talk that upcoming shows about Supergirl and the Teen Titans will be part of the same universe (or at least there were, stupid CBS!). Clearly DC shows no sign of slowing down. But what other shows can they produce?

This is one of my favorite List of Six games, and I invite all of you to join me in coming up with some great ideas. What other superheroes could get shows to tie into the Arrow-Verse? The only rules are that they must fit the aesthetic of the Arrow-Verse, so super-powers are OK, but keep things grounded and gritty. And they can’t be Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman, because the universe is still partially a terrible place, and those characters are apparently only going to appear in the movies.

So join me after the jump to see my ideas. And join me in the comments to share some of your own!

6 Superheroes Who Could Use a Modern Costume Change

What’s in a costume? When it comes to superheroes, pretty much everything! Last month saw the debut of a hip new modern costume for Spider-Woman, a character who hasn’t had a costume change in decades. The new suit is definitely trendy, with a focus on looking like realistic clothing over colorful spandex. And that jacket is just the snazziest!

Jackets are so hot right now

Spider-Woman is only the latest in a long line of superheroes getting new, hip costumes, and I love it! The new Batgirl looks very trendy, Hawkeye suits up in T-shirts, and even Captain America traded his old fashioned chain mail for a costume that more closely matches modern military uniforms. I’m a huge fan of this trend, and I think there are a few other superheroes who could use a modern costume makeover.

Six of them, in fact. Join me after the jump!

6 Pop Culture Resolutions for 2015

Welp, 2015 is here and I’m still fat and broke. Guess my resolutions for 2014 didn’t pan out…again! I did a little bit better with my pop culture resolutions last year, some of which actually came true. So I thought I’d go ahead and make this a new, annual tradition!

Plus this is definitely the year I get in shape and get rich!

I swear by all that is honest and true!

There’s a lot in store for us in 2015, one of the biggest pop culture years in a long time. Not only is Avengers 2 hitting the big screen in the spring, but the year’s going to end with the Star Wars relaunch. How cool is that? We’ve got great TV shows, great video games, great comics, and great everything else. But how great can they be? What do I hope to see in 2015? Join me after the jump to find out!

The 6 Silliest Spin-Off Reindeer

When was the last time we had a new Christmas special that stood the test of time? Why is it that only classics like the Rankin Bass movies or A Charlie Brown Christmas are upheld as annual traditions? Maybe because today’s modern entertainment is all substance and no soul, with crappy computer animation substituting actual effort? Nah, that can’t be it.

But it hasn’t stopped people from trying!

Their union is terrible

There is a never-ending list of treacly, worthless Christmas specials churned out in the past few years. And a startling number of them star spin-offs of Santa’s famous reindeer team. That’s right, spin-offs. Instead of awesome stories about the reindeer we already know and love, most specials give them bastard children or introduce Mary Sue reindeer to suit their own flimsy desires. And seeing as how Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is my favorite Christmas special from when I was a kid, I decided to put together a list of the silly spin-off reindeer that populate these silly Christmas specials.

Seriously, Santa’s reindeer were having lots of kids!

My 6 Favorite Things of 2014

Attention young people who read my blog, let me make one thing perfectly clear: when adults say that time flies when you’re older, they are 100% right! Jeez louise, I can’t believe 2014 is already over! Where the heck did the year go? How did I get this old?! What the heck did I do with myself?

All griping aside, how about we look back and share our favorite things form 2014?

I’ve known better years

The problem with that, however, is that I can’t really remember everything I did in 2014! I have no idea what I was into last March! That was a forever ago (even though it feels like only yesterday). Was there anything to enjoy in 2014? Or was it just one big slog of depression? If you join me after the jump, we can find out together!
