Supervillain declares war on Phoenix Jones
For those of you keeping track of Superheroes in the real world, the city of Seattle is home to homemade superhero Phoenix Jones. Jones has administered his personal brand of self-styled vigilante justice since 2011; equipped with body armour, a stun baton, mace, tear gas and handcuffs.
Jones, with his ten-member costumed crimefighting group, “Rain City Superhero Movement” have been fighting and preventing crime in Seattle and parts of Washington for more than a year without any response from the supervillain community–until now. Behold, Rex Velvet!
The Dragonborn Comes
I’ve realized for a few months now that not only did I never write a proper review for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but I also never let my readers know how my orc warrior Tannenbaum did on his quest. Suffice to say, he kicked ass and saved the world from the dragon menace. The game was awesome. I logged in more than 100 hours over three characters…but then sadly, my interest died down the moment after I beat the main story. Which sucks. I never played my side characters to their fullest, or really even finished with Tannenbaum.
But I do hope for some excellent DLC one of these days. My idea is to get Tannebaum married and set him up in the biggest mansion in the land, having retired from adventuring after he saved the world. Then when the DLC hits, he’ll have to come out of retirement. It’ll be awesome.
To make up for my lack of Skyrim closure, here’s the absolute best song from the game, song by a nice lady named Maluka. It’ll take people back.
Pokemon is Tragic
I found these comics by artist Mare Odomo while randomly surfing the Internet today, and they are brutally hilarious. You kind of have to know a bit about Pokemon to get the dark humor, and about the cartoon show. But I do know, so I found these to be utterly brilliant. Basically it’s the protagonist and pokemon trainer Ash writing letters to his absent father. Whatever happened to Ash’s father? Nobody knows! He’s never mentioned on the show, I don’t think ever. Hence why these are gust bustingly funny and horrible!
Enjoy! Oh, and visit Odomo’s site for more of the comics, and maybe to order the book.
Static Shock: Blackout is Here!
I posted the teaser trailer for this fan film a few months ago, and now that the whole 13-minute video is out, I thought I’d post the whole thing! I never cared for Static Shock, but brilliance in geek filmmaking should be praised. The team does a good job and it’s well shot. The character definitely fits with the more amateurish feel.
It was made by a guy named Stefan Dezil and his people. Definitely worth your time.
Internet Apocalypse
With an old favourite, the Internet band known as the Gag Quartet gathers the memes in an epic explodageddon of sheer brilliance.
This video was created in 2011, a time that will henceforth be known as the year the Internet collectively declared itself to be a sovereign state of Awesome. Enjoy.
