Project: Rooftop Fantastic Four Designs Are In!
The Project: Rooftop Fantastic Four redesign costumes are in, and they are, pardon the pun, fantastic! If you don’t know, Project: Rooftop is a site dedicated to redesigning superhero costumes. They hold annual contests and even have some pros weigh in on the contestants. These contests produce some of the absolute coolest costume redesigns on the Internet. And I absolutely love this kind of artistic geekery. If only the real comic book companies relied on creative types like these when it came to giving their heroes new costumes.
The best DC Comics can come up with is to add a ton of piping and lines to their new superhero reboot costumes.
Anyway, check out the #1 entry, drawn by Alejandro Bruzzese!
Personally, I’m not a big fan of this design. I like what he was going for, with the color-coded T-shirts, but it doesn’t say ‘Fantastic’ to me. It definitely plays up the explorers/adventurnauts aspect of the Fantastic Four, but it’s not as elegant or awesome as it could be. Still, the judges voted this one as the very best, so who am I to argue?

How Has This Awesome Star Wars Anime Not Existed Until Now?
There’s probably been other Star Wars anime stuff before, but this fan-made epic battle between TIE fighters and X-wings is phenomenal!
My favorite part is that it seems to be drawn from the point of view of the TIE fighter pilots, a sorely underused Star Wars group, in my opinion. Now I really want to see a show about these badass space banditos. Who flies for the Empire? What’s it like in the cockpit of a TIE fighter? The possibilities are endless!
The original video was made by a guy named Otaking, and I’d like you, but it seems the original video was taken down from Youtube. What a shame.
For Blue Power Ranger Fans
Once again the Internet gives without us even having to ask. Animator Mike McCraw has decided to use his infinite talents to make short little bursts of wicked cool Power Rangers animations. Along with Blue, he’s also done Black and Pink (the sexy Rangers), both of which are really good. I don’t know why these exist, but it doesn’t really matter. They do exist, the Internet has housed them and now they are ours to enjoy.
Now he just needs to make one for the Green Ranger…
The Ghost Rider Game We All Wish We Had
I have nothing but respect and admiration for people who make awesome video game mods. Like turning the protagonist from Grand Theft Auto 4 into Ghost Rider, complete with flaming skull, fire breath and car explosions.
But seriously, one dude on his computer is able to make a better Ghost Rider video game than any of the ones made by real companies as movie tie-in games. That’s shameful on those companies. But then I’m a big proponent of just sticking superheroes in a GTA-esque world and letting them run free. It worked for Spider-Man, it worked for the Incredible Hulk; it’ll work for any superhero!
Game of Violins
That people like Lindsey Stirling exist in the world makes me happy. She’s a violinist who has made it her sworn duty to cover all the awesome nerdy medieval songs. She already did the Skyrim theme, and here she is with Game of Thrones. Singer Peter Hollens is also on hand to make noises with his mouth.
