Shall We Start the Morning With a New Batman Trailer?
Yes, we shall!
The latest, and I think last, trailer for The Dark Knight Rises hit the Internet today, and boy oh boy is it…underwhelming. I dunno, maybe it’s just me, but none of these trailers have filled me with any excitement. Or maybe it’s just my extreme excitement for The Avengers this week. The Dark Knight Rises looks cool, and I have no doubt that it’s probably going to be an amazing film, but I’m just not feeling it yet.
Am I the only one?
This trailer gives us more Catwoman than we’ve seen before, plus a larger look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s John Blake character. So hopefully you enjoy both of those. More Bane too! The movie comes out on July 18.
I Hope Super Best Friends Lasts Forever
Amiright, folks?
I may not be watching the DC Nation cartoon block like a good little geek, but I don’t miss a new episode of Super Best Friends Forever when they put it on Youtube soon after! And you shouldn’t either! This one is all about Supergirl fighting Superman! So you know it’s especially epic.
Review: Teen Titans #8
So everybody gets new Tron-inspired costumes! That’s got to count for something, right? Why do they get Tron-inspired costumes? Who knows! But apparently that’s what NOWHERE does when it captures young metahumans. So if nothing else, I can at least stop complaining about how lame NOWHERE is as the bad guy. They finally step up their game in this issue to reveal some pretty nasty goings ons.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t make for a good issue. But at least it’s not as terrible as last month.
Comics rating: 2/5: Bad.
At the end of the last issue, the Teen Titans were grabbed by the evil Harvest and NOWHERE. This issue gets pretty freaky. NOWHERE has some people who can warp reality, so the Titans are put through some really weird, sometimes confusing torture shenanigans. The idea is to break the Titans by revealing their inner most secrets, except that nobody has very interesting secrets. We get little vignettes about each character, but none of them really build the characters up at all. At the very least it puts the Titans in a precarious situation as they gear up for the big crossover event with Superboy and Legion Lost (for some reason).
Though somebody get guest artist Ig Guara away from superhero comics immediately. Ig Guara is a good artist, but holy cow do some of his characters absolutely suck. When your costumed superhero looks like a kid wearing big, uncomfortable pajamas, you were not destined to draw superhero comics.
Because Super Best Friends Forever Continues to Be Awesome
Here is another teaser of the next mini-sode of Super Best Friends Forever, the amazingly adorable cartoon by Lauren Faust starring the cutest ever versions of Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Girl. This episode will air on Saturday, and no doubt I will post the full cartoon a few days later. But until then, enjoy this little tease!
A Tiny Peek at Harley Quinn’s Revenge
Harley Quinn’s Revenge is real, baby! And it’s coming to us at the end of May! Not only is it going to be attached to the upcoming Game of the Year Edition of Batman: Arkham City, but the DLC itself is going to be available for Playstation 3 on May 29 for $9.99, and then for X-Box: 360 on May 30 for 800 Microsoft Points! Hells yeah! And it’s definitely going to be a new story mission, not just challenge maps and the like. Which means we are actually going to get Robin as part of a story mission! Perhaps he’ll even be free to move around Arkham City!
I knew buying that Arkham City Robin action figure wasn’t a waste of money!
Anyway, check out this video and you can see about 5 seconds of Harley.
Or you can just look at this screenshot to get the entire gist of that 5 seconds. Apparently Harley is going to dye her hair black. Perhaps because she’s in mourning?
As always, I will keep you lovely readers informed about any further developments.
