They’re Making An Animated Watchmen

Man, nothing is going on this week other than the heat. I’ve had a lot of success either staying in my air conditioned office or my air conditioned home (my car’s AC is broken). So I haven’t really worried about the heat. But in order to fulfill my oath of posting something online every once and a while, here’s the trailer for the first parts of an animated Watchmen adaptation.

We’ve had a number of Watchmen adaptations over the years. There was a motion comic once that I watched, and it had one, male voice actor doing the voices for everybody. Will this one be any different? I don’t know! But it promises to be very faithful to the comic. I think they’re just going to animate the comic right off that page. That might be neat!

Watchmen Parts 1 & 2 come out in August! And…uh…I don’t know in what format. On Max? In theaters? Surely not on DVD…

Arcane Season 2 Trailer!

I didn’t know this was coming today, but heck yeah, it’s here! The first full trailer for Arcane season 2! The hit show that took everybody by storm a few years ago is coming back for more! And it looks great!

Look, simple as this: Arcane season 1 was amazing. And there’s every indication that season 2 will be just as good, if not better. So I’m getting everybody’s hopes up! Live the hype! Love the hype! Watch and enjoy!

Arcane season 2 is coming to Netflix in November.

Here’s That Ninja Turtles Trailer I Was Waiting For

On Friday, we got a trailer for the upcoming Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. I was hoping to post it on Friday, but it didn’t come out until the evening and I was already busy with other stuff by then. So here it is now!

I enjoy how well they’ve captured the look and feel of Mutant Mayhem. I don’t like that it’s only going to be like 12 episodes. Everything is of so few episodes these days. And it’s weird that the focus is on splitting up the turtles, like that’s a selling point. Just weird.

Anyway, could be a fun cartoon, and it comes to Paramount+ on Aug. 9.

6 Cartoon Reboots Where I Want to See the Children As Adults

Legacy sequels are all the rage these days, especially in the movies. I’m lukewarm on this sort of thing, but there was a unique idea floating through some of these sequels that got me thinking: a legacy sequel where the child characters are all grown up! Now that I’d like to see…in some occasions.

Remember when adult Dexter was really buff?

This idea found its way into my brain when I read about the new King of the Hill legacy sequel coming out one of these days. Rather than just bring back the show as-is, the new reboot is indeed going to jump ahead to the present day as if the characters aged in real time. So Bobby Hill, in all his childhood glory, is going to be an adult man in the new series. He’s going to have a job. Maybe a family? I don’t want to spoil anything that I read, but it did give me the idea for this List of Six.

So join me after the jump for six shows/movies that starred child characters, and now they’re rebooted into grown ups for continuing adventures. And all of my ideas were for cartoons, so let’s stick to that for now. And feel free to share some of your own in the comments below!

Cool Tomb Raider Anime On the Way

Hollywood has been trying to make Tomb Raider a thing for a long time now. I’m not the biggest Tomb Raider fan in the world. I barely ever played those original games, and only played two of three of the modern reboot. I’m not sure why I didn’t play through that last one even though I very much enjoyed the first two…

Anyway, the people who brought the truly awesome Castlevania cartoon are now making a Tomb Raider one!

I loved that Castlevania show. And while Tomb Raider is not on my List of Six of other games that could use a cool, R-rated cartoon, it’s still a solid option. Everybody loves Lara Croft and all sorts of cartoon magic could happen if you put your mind to it, things that the most recent movie reboot couldn’t get right for whatever reason.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is coming to Netflix on Oct. 10.
