Some Only Leigh to Brighten Our Days
I’m going to level with you henchies: I’m on vacation, and man, is it easy to be lazy on vacation. I could be talking about the possible casting of Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad movie, or I could be grousing about the weird new origin for Doctor Doom in the new Fantastic Four movie, but I really don’t care. Those are pop culture concerns for another day! Me? I’m watching new Only Leigh cartoons!
Life is good. Don’t ever forget that.

Bee and PuppyCat Returns, Making the Day Worth Enjoying!
If you’re not familiar with the Internet web cartoon Bee and PuppyCat, then take a few minutes out of your Friday to watch the first episode: Part 1 and Part 2. It’s an adorable, silly, kind of insane cartoon about a wacky girl and her pet puppycat. It’s made by Natasha Allegri, who worked on Adventure Time, so expect Bee and PuppyCat to be a lot like Adventure Time.
And that’s definitely not a bad thing. Bee and PuppyCat is weird and adorable in equal measure, which is the secret of its success.
Well after that first two-parter, Allegri and her team had to put the cartoon on the backburner to raise some money to make more, and possibly publish some comics. Whatever they were doing apparently worked, because we’ve got two new episodes to enjoy! The animation style is a little different, but it’s still the same cartoon we know, love and giggle at.
Enjoy!
I hope we can expect more Bee and PuppyCat in the near or far future.

Now This Song is Going to be Stuck in All of Your Heads!
Hey gang, Archer season 6 is coming!
Quiet news day this morning, so I thought I’d join the rest of the Internet in posting this sweet trailer for the new season of Archer – one in which they’re going to drop the name ISIS because of all that evil terrorist stuff going on. That’s probably for the best.
Gravity Falls: The Anime!
Anybody else watching the excellent Gravity Falls? It’s a delightful cartoon in its own right, but the writers have also packed it with so much mythology that there are whole websites dedicated to unraveling the mysteries. I like that in a show. I loved it in Lost, and Gravity Falls definitely has a good head on its shoulders. This is a video made by Mike Inel, taking a scene from a recent Season 3 episode and redoing it as an anime. I think the animation looks pretty slick!
For Some Reason, Animated Guardians of the Galaxy Rubs Me The Wrong Way
I don’t know what my problem is! I absolutely loved the Guardians of the Galaxy! It was an amazing film! I loved it and can’t wait to buy it on DVD (which says a lot!). But there’s just something about how the characters are written or portrayed in other media that I can’t stand – and that includes comics! I think part of it is that Star-Lord’s red coat outfit just doesn’t translate well out of live action. He looks dumb. And the writing is just…I don’t know. All I know is that this snippet of an animated Guardians of the Galaxy rubs me the wrong way.
If you like it, by all means, like it! Don’t let me bring you down. I think I’m just unintentionally being some kind of curmudgeon.
