My 6 Favorite Moments From The Avengers
So I absolutely loved The Avengers! And I’m confident that anyone reading this blog loved it too. This is a glorious time to be a comic book geek. But let us never under-appreciate the miracle it was to get such a perfect superhero movie. Just think about the time and effort that went into this film: five other big budget Hollywood movies, all of which had to be successful and popular; half a dozen big name actors who were probably far more concerned about their jobs and their craft than in fulfilling our dreams; the cost of those actors’ salaries; finding a director who had a vision that matched our own, and much more.
Had The Avengers been made 10 years ago, it would have been licensed to some other studio like FOX, who would have probably hoped for the best with some crummy one-off movie. Need I remind you what someone thought a Justice League movie should be like in 1997?
Exactly as bad as it looks
Here’s part of the movie on Youtube, if you dare! But could you imagine getting an Avengers movie like that? Shudder to think. Fortunately for us all, Hollywood has recognized that the entire world loves superheroes as much as the rest of us! A $207 million opening weekend? More than $700 million around the world in two weeks? Those numbers are staggering! For an Avengers movie! But those numbers aren’t surprising when you remember how awesome that movie is!
And to geek out just a bit longer about The Avengers, here is a list of my 6 favorite moments from the film! And I hope you’ll share your favorite moments in the comments! Though be warned, we’re talking ***FULL SPOILERS*** for the movie.

I don’t normally like to post videos of Hollywood actor interviews, simply because I personally don’t care about that kind of thing. But today is a slow pop culture news day, and Mark Ruffalo is the coolest thing in the world right now. Here he is talking about playing the Hulk, if you’re curious.
Edgar Wright Knows What We Want
Chalk another one up to my random, obscure pop culture blog changing the world, but no sooner do I mention I want to see Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man movie than he tweets this picture:
That was Tweeted Saturday morning, so right in the middle of The Avengers making their $200 million+ opening weekend. Is it possible that Edgar Wright is starting to realize that he could be a part of that? That everybody wants to see his Ant-Man film, and that I’m not the only one who wants his Ant-Man to be in Avengers 2?
Stop teasing us, Edgar! Make that movie!
The Avengers Reject Batman
The Avengers parody video continue! Because that movie made $200 million+ at the US box office over the weekend, a certain Caped Crusader with a movie out in July is getting a little antsy. And if you can’t beat’em, join’em! If they’ll let you. Also there’s Robin in it, so I’m definitely going to post it. The video may also have some off-color humor if you’re not into that kind of thing.

The Avengers to Break $200 Million with Opening Weekend!
Holy crap that’s awesome!! The Avengers is going to make $200.03 million this weekend! That completely shatters the last record breaker: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which had about $167 million only last year. I knew The Avengers was going to be popular, but nobody predicted it would be this popular! $200 million!! Jeez louise!
And it’s already made twice that internationally!

Check out my review of The Avengers to understand why it’s so awesome. This is absolutely spectacular news. It means we’ll definitely be getting more Marvel movies in the future! And definitely more Avengers!
Also, fun trivia, the first movie to break $100 million in one weekend was the first Spider-Man film. So it’s great to know that the world loves superheroes as much as I do!
