The Greatest Marvel Easter Egg of All Time is in Plain Sight in the Final Episode of Daredevil

I just finished marathoning the new Daredevil TV show and, while it was an amazing show, there is one thing in particular that I am still freaking out about. I’m writing this blog post at 2 a.m. because I just can’t wait until the morning to write this. I saw this Easter Egg with my own eyes and it almost threw me off the entire final episode. It’s right there, in plain sight; they weren’t even trying to hide it – and I love them even more for that.

Of course, I’m not going to spoil it for everyone without a little warning first.

He’s smirking because he saw it too

So take a moment. Make sure you’re sitting down. In fact, make sure you watch all 13 episodes of Daredevil first, because you don’t want to ruin the surprise for yourself. Seriously, it was a great show, from beginning to end, and I’ll have a deeper, better review next week. But this one Easter Egg, this tiny, insignificant bit of Marvel trivia, has elevated my entire life to new heights. This has to be seen to be believed.

Join me after the jump for the greatest Marvel Easter Egg of all time, from the final episode of Daredevil.

Are you ready? BEHOLD!!

Roughly 39:30 into the final episode

Stilt-Man!! Those are Stilt-Man’s legs! The real, actual legs! That is an honest-to-God Stilt-Man Easter Egg in Daredevil!

It’s not schematics. It’s not a random appearance by Wilbur Day. It’s not even a joke about stilts. Those are Stilt-Man’s actual legs! Somebody built that prop! Somebody had the brilliant idea to put that into the scene! I’m on Cloud Nine here, people.

What a time to be alive.

  1. Haha, i’ll say this, you sure know how to build up suspense. For an easter egg no less. Somewhat anticlimactic for me, since i’m not much of a stilt-man fan. But hey, it’s good that you’re happy.

I hope next season will have some villains showing up, and not just another season long story, even though it was great. I’d like to see Bullseye of course, more of The Hand, Elektra, and Typhoid Mary. Although, If they start working the Karen Page/ Matt Murdock romance angle, then Elektra may not show up for a while. But she could totally tie into what’s going down with Stick et al. Maybe.

    • We all have our pet characters, and I have a long and storied history with Stilt-Man. And that was a beautiful Easter Egg.

I think Bullseye, Elektra and the Hand would all be pretty perfect for season 2. In fact, maybe I’ll do up a ‘6 things I want to see in Daredevil Season 2’ List of Six one of these days…
