Pokemon X/Y Final Forms Have Been Leaked!

Pokemon X/Y comes out in a little more than a week, and already a few copies have hit stores around the world. People are out there playing Pokemon X/Y as you read this…and that means spoilers! Sure enough, these enterprising folks have gone ahead and evolved the three starters into their final forms, which so far have not yet been officially revealed by Nintendo. But if you’re willing to believe the Internet, then so am I!

Before I saw these final forms, I was dedicated Team Froakie. The frog just looks the best. But then I found out my brother, who you may recognize in the comments some times, is also going with Froakie. So if I have any hope of making this Mills Family Thanksgiving the most Pokemon Thanksgiving ever, I can’t pick the same starter, can I? That would just be ridiculous!

So it looks like…based on these final forms, which I’m posting after the jump…I may have to switch to Team Chespin. Hard to believe, I know, but just look at what he becomes…

Holy Guacamole! Chesnaught!? Not only is it an amazing pun, but he’s clearly modeled after the Juggernaut from X-Men! How is it that Chespin goes from looking like a booger in his second form to looking like, well, like the Juggernaut! Though Froakie’s final form being a badass ninja frog is a little hard to give up. But now might be the time for a last minute change!

What do you guys and gals think? Anybody else picking up the game? Do these final forms change your mind?

  1. I was on the fence about whether to get Fennekin or Chespin, but now I am pretty sure I will go with Fennekin. Chesnaught looks awesome, but I have a soft spot for the fox like pokemon.

    • Fennekin does have an awesome witch thing going for it, and the first form is definitely adorable. Personally, I don’t like humanoid pokemon, but I’m stuck with all of the starters having humanoid final form this time – though I do like that they’re each a specific type of person: ninja, witch and juggernaut. Adds a special bit of awesome to the lineup.

  2. I’m not particularly pleased with the Ninja-ness of Froakie’s final form. It probably means he’s going to be a Water/Dark type. And the Legendary in Y is going to be Dark/Flying so I’ll have two dark pokemon already. Chespin looks like he’ll end up Grass/Steel which is interesting. And Fennekin I think is Fire/Psychic which is really good. But I’m definitely still with Froakie though.

But now I’m wondering if I want to shoot for an entire Dark squad. I know the new Panda pokemon is Dark/Fighting. And I think there’s a Dark/Fire bird-thing somewhere in the new game. So it might be cool to have a theme. I just have to be really careful around Fighting type pokemon. It also means you’re not allowed to load up on Fighting type before Thanksgiving.

Did I ever tell you that I used a team of all partial Ghost type pokemon for my White 2 playthrough? It was Golurk (Ghost/Rock), Drifloon (Ghost/Flying), Jellicent (Ghost/Water), Litwick (Ghost/Fire), Rotom (Ghost/Electric), Froslass (Ghost/Ice), and sometimes Giratina (Ghost/Dragon). They were awesome. I decided my character was a Pokemon Necromancer. The only trouble was the all Dark Type member of the Final Four, but we still beat him in one try.

    • Yeah, word has it that Froakie’s final form is a Water/Dark type. And like you, I am also a little displeased with how the final ninja form looks. The second form looks awesome, but the final form…not so much. Chesnaught wins the final form competition. And a grass/steel pokemon would be awesome.

Though I also foresee a problem that we’re probably going to put together the exact same team. I’m not going to pass up either the Panda pokemon or the T-Rex. But a theme would be fun. I’ve never gone with a theme before. I just pick the coolest pokemon.

And no, I never heard about your Ghost Team. That sounds awesome. Definitely a smarter, funner way to play a pokemon game. I didn’t have anything special in my Black 2 team, just the various pokemon that I liked at any given moment.

  3. I’m just happy that the fire starter doesnt become a fire/fighting pokemon. I waiting for the day when the starters stay fire, water, or grass by their final forms.
