How Rorschach Stole Christmas

This hit the Interwebs the other day, and it is glorious.

Sad Multiple Man News

Marvel.com is featuring a sneak peek at their X-Franchise comics coming out in March. As some of you know, I’m closely following the events in X-Factor as they involve the death of my favorite character, Multiple Man. It’s my theory, and my hope, that Multiple Man will come out unscathed and still be in the book. But the March solicitations offer only bad news.

No sign of Multiple Man whatsoever!

You can all go to Hell!

The solicitation for the issue goes as follows:

X-FACTOR #233

WRITER: Peter David
ARTIST: Leonard Kirk
Cover By David Yardin
• Havok And Polaris Take The Reins Of X-Factor Investigations!
• Featuring The Return Of X-Factor Foe The Isolationist

Nothing about that sounds good to me at all. This is sad, sad news. Multiple Man is worth a dozen Havoks and Polarises!

But perhaps when the world of comics closes one door, it opens another. March is also the month that the Mimic, another favorite character of mine, will be appearing in X-Men: Legacy. That in no way makes up for the loss of Multiple Man, but I guess at this point I have to take what I can get.

A Doctor Who Christmas

So I’m busy putting together a list of my 6 favorite TV show Christmas episodes. It won’t be done today, so to hold you over, enjoy this new trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas special coming out later this month. It’s a tiny morsel, but perhaps you’ll enjoy it. Maybe some good comic book news will break later today.

It’s also an excuse to finally post this picture I found online of all 11 Doctors drawn like the Whos from Whoville, the tall and the small.

Can you name them all?

I Used to Really Like Movie Trailers

I don’t know what’s happened to the state of movie trailers these days, but it’s been a good many years since I was last captivated and enthralled by a good movie trailer. The sound bites, the music, the clips of a movie I was salivating to see; trailers were works of art in and of themselves. I used to lovingly watch the show on the E! Network called ‘Coming Attraction’s, and it was nothing but movie trailers!

What a sorry world we live in.

Anyway, here are two trailers that recently came out. The first is Men in Black 3:

I’m definitely not impressed. I mean, really, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones don’t have better things to do? Who in their right mind was calling for a Men in Black 3? It’s been more than a decade since the last movie came out, and even that wasn’t very popular. But then I’ve been disappointed in the series ever since they got rid of the female agent from the end of the first movie. I liked the idea of getting new agents, instead of just the buddy comedy set up.

Next is G.I.Joe: Retribution.

Cooler…but not captivatingly so. It’s got some neat stuff with ninjas, it has the Rock, and it’s better than the original G.I.Joe trailer, but I’m not sold. The first G.I.Joe movie trailer was a thing of cringing.

Though I will say that this trailer has convinced me to finally see the first G.I.Joe movie. So I guess it’s done that right.

Because When I Think ‘Transformers’, I Think Slow, Emotional Ballad

Last year, my friends and I played and enjoyed the video game Transformers: War for Cybertron. It sold well, and there will be a sequel coming out. The first trailer was released over the weekend, and considering the games are not based on the Michael Bay movies, this trailer goes in the exact opposite direction of the Bay movies. Sure there are explosions and giant warrior robots, but these ones are meaningful, dammit.

It’s called Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

At least it has a giant, fire-breathing Tyrannosaurus Rex robot! He’s called Grimlock.
