Full Dark Knight Rises Movie Trailer!

The first full length movie trailer for The Dark Knight Rises was released on the Internet today, and it’s…pretty cool. As I mentioned only a few days ago, I haven’t been wowed by a movie trailer in a long time, and this one does not break that streak. It’s uninspiring. I don’t get chills watching this trailer. It just sort of throws a bunch of characters and potential catch phrases at us. And the thing with the football field looks…fakeish.

Anyway, watch for yourself:

Neither Bane or Catwoman (who is only seen as Selina Kyle in this trailer) have much of a presence. Neither one comes off as menacing or memorable, like the Joker from The Dark Knight. And we barely see any Batman at all in the trailer. There are a bunch of characters we don’t know, something political to do with Commissioner Gordon and then just vague shots of Bane in his less than stellar mask/costume.

Not gonna lie, I’m disappointed. Still, I’m sure it’s going to be an awesome movie!

Hello, this is Sean, the Henchman-4-Hire! By day I am a mild-mannered newspaper reporter in Central New York, and by the rest of the day I'm a pretty big geek when it comes to video games, comic books, movies, cartoons and more.

  1. I’ll agree with that. I’m still planning on seeing this, but this trailer didn’t blow me away. I think I’m having a hard time seeing Anne Hathoway (sp?) as Catwoman. And I was kind of hoping for the Riddler or someone like that. Bane is cool and all, but I just am not feeling the same about him in this movie, than I am compared to the Batman games or other movies. I’m planning on starting the comics soon, a little late I know. Any advice in which comics to start with? Sorry I rambled a bit. I tend to do that sometimes. Lol.

  2. You’ve picked a great time to start reading the comics, especially Batman. We’re in a Batman golden age these days. DC Comics did a big revamp/reboot back in September, sort of cleaning the slate. So it’s the perfect time to start reading. This is month four, so in a few more months they’ll release the first trade paperback collections of the first six issues of the revamps.

But perhaps your local comic book shop might have all the back issues, starting with the #1 issues from September, then #2 in October and so on. Or they might even just have reprints, which are just as good.

I recommend the series Batman by writer Scott Snyder. Amazing stuff so far. And not far from the tone of Arkham City. Also good is Batman and Robin. There is also Detective Comics and Batman: Dark Knight, but I don’t read either of those series. All of them are pretty good, from what I hear.

If your interests lie outside Bruce Wayne, the rest of the Bat-Family have their own books. Dick Grayson stars in Nightwing, Barbara Gordon in Batgirl, Tim Drake in Teen Titans and then there’s also Batwoman, which is arguably the best comic book being published today.

All good choices if you want to start fresh with some good Batman stories. I also have some suggestions if you’re looking into older published works and where to start.

    • Thanks 🙂 I was thinking about getting a couple online, like the comic apps and such, and seeing which I preferred. But I wasn’t sure where to start. I’ll check into these and deepen my love for Batman haha. Thanks again.
