That Animated Peanuts Movie Still Doesn’t Look Half Bad

I’m still not totally convinced this is a good idea or is going to result in anything great. But this full-length trailer is pretty nice.

I do like the idea that the writers are focusing on the Little Redheaded Girl for the main plot. That’s kind of nifty. And the animation looks pretty cool, I’ll give it that. Let’s all just keep kind of hoping that The Peanuts Movie turns out pretty good.

Also, why not called it Peanuts: The Motion Picture? Somebody needs to bring that back…

  1. I’m intrigued by the idea of a “secret origin” of Charlie Brown’s crush on the Little Red-Haired Girl.

I like the look of the trailer. There’s a part of me that would prefer 2-D cel animation, but the CGI animation works in motion and it “feels” appropriate.

I was surprised to see Shermy. I don’t think of Shermy as a character who co-exists alongside Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Franklin; Schulz had retired him from the strip by the time those three came on the scene.

    I hope I’ll enjoy it. 🙂

    • I am also intrigued by this potential secret origin! And I wonder if Charlie Brown will get the girl in the end. This is a modern movie, not a long-running comic strip. Sensibilities are definitely different.

Sadly, I didn’t see my favorite character in the trailer: 5! Why no love for 5?!
