A Live Action Captain Boomerang Will Be a Thing

Someone somewhere has decided that a man whose claim to fame is throwing boomerangs will pose much more of a challenge to a man who shoots arrows instead of a man with super speed. In other words, Captain Boomerang will appear on Arrow in Season 3 instead of The Flash.

He’ll also be played by Nick Tarabay, of Spartacus, according to Entertainment Weekly.

At least one of them is Australian

Though according to the article, he’ll be part of the two show crossover coming up this fall, so maybe that’s something.

I watched Spartacus, and it was really good. Tarabay played the jackass, so I bet he’d make a good villain. He seems like he has the cocky smarm to play someone like Captain Boomerang. Also according to the article, the Cap’n will be a former ARGUS operative who’s possibly gone rogue. New Suicide Squad member, perhaps?

I only hope the boomerang effects are as good as the bow and arrow effects.

Epic, Full-Length Flash Trailer Reveals Everything!

Holy Guacamole, you guys! No sooner did The CW release that brief Flash teaser yesterday than they’ve come out with a full, 5-minute long trailer that reveals freaking everything for the new The Flash show! We’ve got Barry Allen, his supporting cast, his origin, the origin of his costume, the Weather Wizard, the death of his mom, the origin of metahumans, Vibe, it’s…it’s glorious!

Behold!

I love it. The show looks a little weird, a little kitschy, but I kind of like that too! I like the lead actor, I like the costume, I looooove the special effects! And I especially love the Green Arrow cameo. The show might have some growing pains, I think at the beginning. But it otherwise looks gorgeous.

First Teaser for Flash TV Show is Aptly Over Quickly

Did you guys and gals see Arrow‘s season finale? It was a badass adventure, to be sure. It also gave us our first look at the new Flash show in motion!

I don’t know about you, but I got a real sense of a growing Justice League from watching that clip. There’s just something really stirring about seeing live action superheroes hang out together. I grow more excited for the Flash show with every new bit I see.

The Flash Looks Pretty Snazzy

The CW has released the first official look at the Flash costume for his new TV series. I think it looks pretty darn great!

I even like the dark maroon instead of bright red

I’m just glad his mask isn’t a smear of red eye shadow.

I really like this look, and I can’t imagine the rest of the costume is going to change things up. I think we’ll have a full, comics accurate Flash costume when all is said and done. And I like what they did with the lightning bolts on the ears. Just like Captain America in the movies, superheroes do not need stupid-looking wings on the sides of their heads. This costume looks classy and classic.

DC and Warner Bros. are gearing up to shoot the pilot, and let’s hope it goes to a full series, because Arrow is already pretty damn great.

6 Things I Want to See in a Flash TV Show

Following the success of the Green Arrow TV show – and really, who could have seen that coming? – Warner Bros. and The CW have announced hopes to make a spin-off about the Flash, the fastest man alive. They cast actor Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster only a few weeks ago, and he’s already filming a few episodes of Arrow Season 2 to build up his character and get him ready for his own pilot.

I’ve said it before: we are living in a Golden Age of superhero entertainment.

Faster than a speeding…no wait, that’s Superman

I consider myself a fan of the Flash, even though I’ve rarely ever read his comic. I love the idea of the character, I love the costume, I love the powers; the Flash can be a really cool guy. I think he’d make for a fantastic big screen movie, but who am I to argue with Warner Bros. decision to make a TV show instead? I really liked the first season of Arrow, so I have high hopes for the Flash – I also have some suggestions (or demands, depending on how you look at it).
