Marvel LEGO Video Game – Because The Universe Apparently Loves Me
They’re going to make a Marvel superheroes LEGO video game. Because hells yes!
I am a huge fan of Marvel superheroes, LEGOs and video games, so this is a no-brainer. Well, that’s not entirely true. I haven’t really played a LEGO video game all the way through since the original LEGO Star Wars games. I even somehow passed on the LEGO DC superhero games. Mostly because they don’t have online co-op. How can a video game in this day and age not have online co-op? It’s ridiculous!
But nonetheless, this is awesome. I only wish LEGO would come out with more Marvel superhero building sets. They’ve got a few for the Avengers movie, a couple Spider-Man sets and then one with Wolverine, Magneto and Deadpool flying a helicopter. What’s up with that? The mini-figs are cool, but I’m not gonna pay $20 for a LEGO helicopter.
Maybe I’ll get super lucky and this new game will feature Multiple Man, Mimic and Phil Urich, all my favorite obscure Marvel characters…
The game will be released for all the major systems sometime this fall. I’m going to pay particularly close attention to the co-op announcements. If they have online co-op, then I’ll pressure my girlfriend or my brother to get it with me. If not, I may pass. In the meantime, maybe the DC superheroes game has gone down in price…
Nobody Told Me There Was a LEGO Design Contest
But that’s OK, because Back to the Future won!
Apparently there’s this thing called LEGO CUUSOO where people submit their own LEGO designs, and once they reached 10,000 votes, then LEGO will officially review the project and decide whether or not to make it a reality. That is the coolest LEGO idea I have ever heard. And I’m sad that I’d never heard of it before now. But that’s OK! Now I know, and now I can enjoy.
Well someone submitted the famous DeLorean time machine, they reached 10,000 votes and LEGO has decided to make it a real, official, LEGO set! How cool is that?
Pretty darn cool.
My Brain Just Exploded – Ninja Turtles LEGOs!
Holy crap, you guys. I literally started shaking when I saw this announcement. LEGO has secured the licensing rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and they’re going to start producing LEGO sets at the start of the new year.
Granted, they’ll be based on the new Nickelodeon cartoon, and not the classic 1980s Ninja Turtles, but c’mon! Don’t hold that against them! What little they’ve revealed so far look positively amazing. I am an old school LEGO nerd from way back, and I can’t help but get giddy and excited every time LEGO announce a new geeky license. Star Wars, Batman, X-Men, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and more have all gotten the LEGO treatment. And once again I have to ask, why didn’t we have these awesome LEGOs when I was a kid? Why was I forced to use my stupid imagination? Gah!
But the injustices of my childhood aside, this is utterly brilliant. The Turtle mini-figs look adorable, and they each come with accurate weapons.
The only actual playset they’ve announced so far is one that involves the new version of the Turtle Van (I think), but you can visit this website to see all of the various mini-figs they’ve shown so far at the New York City Comic-Con. I still hate the new version of Splinter, but the Turtles look great, as do the Shredder, Krang and new evil mutant Dogpound. Though personally, I’ll always be a fan of Bebop and Rocksteady.
And unfortunately, Krang appears to be just painted onto the shirt instead of being an actual removable brain. Oh well.
I’m going to start saving my money now and hope that LEGO gets around to making sets of the classic Ninja Turtles from the 1980s.
In the Mines of ‘Give Me Moria’ of This!
Behold, LEGO Lord of the Rings brilliance!
How is it that we live in a world were LEGO humor is relegated to fan-made videos on Youtube? Where is the TV executive who isn’t greenlighting a full stop motion animation LEGO cartoon for Saturday mornings? Somebody find that person for me and introduce them to the Brotherhood Workshop. These guys are geniuses!
This is LEGO Sparta!
The same people who made yesterday’s Lego Inception seem to have also made a Lego 300 clip! Good times.
Thanks to Topless Robot for both finds.
