6 Potential Guardians of the Galaxy Recruits
The long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy movie premieres this weekend, and I’m chomping at the bit to get to the theater. Why isn’t it Friday yet?! All of the trailers have been amazing. The early reviews are outstanding. There is every indication that this movie is going to be great!
But it’s not Friday yet, and that means we have to occupy our time and our minds to keep from going mad with anticipation. So how about a new List of Six? I definitely wanted to go Guardians-themed this week, so I decided of celebrating the very comics that gave birth to the new movie! Marvel Comics have always published awesome outer space comics, with cosmic heroes, interstellar villains, sentient planets and more. There will be a ton of these characters introduced to audiences in this new movie, but we comic fans know that there are tons more space-farring heroes who won’t yet get their chance to shine.
So join me after the jump as I present 6 more wild and awesome space characters who would be perfect for that Guardians of the Galaxy sequel in 2017!
Guardians of the Galaxy Just Gets Better Every Day!
New extended trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy reminds us all why we can’t wait to see this movie! Is it August yet?
What more is there to say? That trailer is amazing! The extended scene of banter towards the end is utterly delightful! Everything about this movie just looks so much fun.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/5/14
Happy Day after Independence Day! Did everybody watch the movie, Independence Day, like I do every year? Or should do every year…I need some Fourth of July traditions. I need to be more patriotic. And there’s nothing more patriotic than reading comics! Especially Captain America comics…which I didn’t do this week. Man, I’m bad at this.
Anyway, I mostly read Marvel comics this week, because DC didn’t have much of anything to tickle my fancy. We’ve still got new Batman Eternal, because I’m still subjecting myself to that series. But we’ve also got new issues of X-Factor, Magneto, Moon Knight, Original Sin and the first issue of Legendary Star-Lord. If you’re wondering why they added the word ‘Legendary’, well, it’s kind of obvious once you read the comic, but not for the reason Marvel probably wants.
Thor: God of Thunder #24 wins Comic Book of the Week for another one of those quieter, talking heads issues that Jason Aaron does so well with this series. I tell ya, Thor has never felt so grand and yet so personable.
Needs more Beta Ray Bill.
Comic Reviews: All-New X-Factor #10, Batman Eternal #13, Legendary Star-Lord #1, Magneto #6, Moon Knight #5, Original Sin #5 and Thor: God of Thunder #24.
He Did It Again! The Star Wars Prequels By Way of Guardians of the Galaxy!
Close down the Internet for the rest of the year, The Unusual Suspect has won the whole darn thing. Less than a week after his amazing first video – a trailer for the original Star Wars trilogy done in the style of Guardians of the Galaxy – Unusual Suspect has done the same thing for the prequels. It’s not as good, but it’s damn good.
Genius! If anyone asks you the point of the Internet, show them these videos. We obviously did something good recently, because these videos are our karma. They are glorious.
Star Wars By Way of Guardians of the Galaxy
Some Internet genius mashed up Star Wars with one of those awesome Guardians of the Galaxy trailers. The result is nothing short of brilliance.
Someone give The Unusual Suspect a medal, because he (or they) have won the Internet for today. That was probably the best trailer mash-up I have ever seen. And it makes me re-appreciate Star Wars like never before!
