First Teaser for Flash TV Show is Aptly Over Quickly
Did you guys and gals see Arrow‘s season finale? It was a badass adventure, to be sure. It also gave us our first look at the new Flash show in motion!
I don’t know about you, but I got a real sense of a growing Justice League from watching that clip. There’s just something really stirring about seeing live action superheroes hang out together. I grow more excited for the Flash show with every new bit I see.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/3/14
What a week to be a Spider-Man fan! Not only is Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters right now, but Amazing Spider-Man #1 hit the stands this very week! If I didn’t know any better, I’d say someone planned it that way. That was pretty clever of them.
I’ll get my movie review posted on Sunday, and for now, lets take a trip to our local comic book shop. Amazing Spider-Man #1 wins Comic Book of the Week. It’s a fun issue, and it’s great to have the real Peter Parker back, but Marvel overloaded the thing with back-up material. That would have weighed the comic down too much for my liking, but one of the back-ups is an epilogue to Scarlet Spider, so that pleased me greatly. Other comics this week include a new Silver Surfer, my return to All-New X-Men and the long-awaited conclusion to J.H. Williams III’s Batwoman story. I also picked up The Flash Annual for the heck of it, but I was not pleased.
At least Spider-Man is still a ton of fun.
Comic Reviews: All-New X-Men #26, Amazing Spider-Man #1, Batman Eternal #4, Batwoman Annual #1, Flash Annual #3 and Silver Surfer #2.
Full Flash Costume Leaves My Heart All A’Flutter
UPDATE: I’ve added a second photo taken on-set on the pilot after the jump. It’s a bright, clear, full-bodied look at the new Flash costume! Click the button to see it after the jump!
Check out an official, full-body picture of the new Flash costume from the upcoming TV show!
I love the look! I love the color! This is an awesome costume!
They’re filming the pilot right now, and is there any doubt that this will be picked up for a full series? It’s made by the same people behind Arrow, and clearly Arrow is a smash hit. We live in a glorious world of superhero entertainment these days!

The Flash Looks Pretty Snazzy
The CW has released the first official look at the Flash costume for his new TV series. I think it looks pretty darn great!
I’m just glad his mask isn’t a smear of red eye shadow.
I really like this look, and I can’t imagine the rest of the costume is going to change things up. I think we’ll have a full, comics accurate Flash costume when all is said and done. And I like what they did with the lightning bolts on the ears. Just like Captain America in the movies, superheroes do not need stupid-looking wings on the sides of their heads. This costume looks classy and classic.
DC and Warner Bros. are gearing up to shoot the pilot, and let’s hope it goes to a full series, because Arrow is already pretty damn great.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/21/13
I wish I knew the rules for Villains Month when DC started handing out the assignments. There doesn’t seem to be any real point to all these issues, other than just existing to fulfill the marketing gimmick. Some of them have been origin stories. Some of them have been direct tie-ins to Forever Evil #1. And some of them have just be short and sweet villain showcases. Some have been really good, and some have been outright garbage. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason. And I would have really liked to have known that going in.
Fortunately, this week is mostly good issues – if we don’t count Deathstroke #1. Double fortunately, Marvel Comics is still going very strong. There’s another solid chapter of Battle of the Atom, though I found the issue a little…disconcerting. You’ll see why. I also liked Infinity a bit more than usual. So that’s a plus. But Comic of the Week has to go to Thor: God of Thunder #13, for being its usual awesome self! It even finds a fun way to incorporate an obvious movie-tie-in villain without seeming too gratuitous.
Though if I’m being fair, Moment of the Week has to go to Black Hand #1, when Black Hand’s zombie army faces off against a squadron of police officers.
Comic Reviews: Black Hand #1, Cheetah #1, New Avengers #10, Infinity #3, Penguin #1, The Rogues #1, Thor: God of Thunder #13, and Uncanny X-Men #12.
