I Didn’t See This Coming in Venom 3 Trailer!

We got a new trailer today for Venom: The Last Dance and it has a surprising villain appearance! One probably could have made an educated guess about this character showing up, but I’ve been focused entirely on hoping that Juno Temple becomes Scream.

No sign of Scream, but this trailer introduces Knull as the villain! Man, that’s a big swing. Personally, I’m no Knullhead. Dude was a lot of flash and boasting when he headlined a Venom-centric Big Event, but Venom gets one of those every year. Heck, there’s currently Venom War going on in the comics, so it’s not like the symbiotes are underutilized. But more power to the movie for bringing in Knull.

And surely Juno Temple is going to become Scream, right?! You wasted Jenny Slate in the first movie, surely you’re not going to waste Juno Temple!

Venom: The Last Dance comes to theaters on Oct. 25.

Surprise Venom 3 Trailer!

I didn’t know we were getting a Venom 3 trailer today! How exciting! I think I’m OK with the Venom movies? They’re not good movies, but the Venom/Eddie Brock dynamic more than makes up for any other shortfalls. And that’s entertaining enough. And they’re clearly leaning into all of that in the first trailer for Venom 3: The Last Dance.

Looks generic and exciting! The only thing I really want from this movie is for Juno Temple to become Scream, my favorite symbiote. There seem to be a couple of symbiotes floating in the science lab, but we don’t get a tease that any of them take over either her or Chiwetel Ejiofor, though it could happen! He could become Lasher or Phage. Venom and Eddie could lead a whole team of human/symbiote teams to take on this new threat from his homeworld!

But, again, that’s just wishful thinking that Juno Temple plays my favorite symbiote!

Venom: The Last Dance comes to theaters on Oct. 25.

Carnage is Everywhere in New Venom Sequel Trailer

I did not know this was coming today, but here it is! A new, fuller trailer for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage! And this thing is chockablock full of Carnage everywhere!

Man, oh man! Would you look at that! They’re going full Carnage, it seems. He’s got the look, he’s got the viciousness. This is apparently what moviegoers want to see! I’m cool with it too, though I’m still salty that they didn’t use Jenny Slate as Scream in the first Venom movie. That would have been so much better!

I liked the first Venom movie well enough. It was a crap movie, but the Venom/Eddie Brock stuff was fun, and that looks to continue for the sequel. So we’ll see.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is scheduled to come out on Sept. 24…but you’ll notice that neither the trailer nor the description have that date attached. Considering COVID is on the rise again, I wouldn’t be surprised if this film gets bumped back.

6 Thoughts on Venom

Venom is kind of a hit! The symbiote superhero film broke the October box office record, pulling in a respectable $80 million. Not bad, considering the headache this film has been to get to the theaters. But credit where credit is due, this film might have legs. I thought it was pretty good.

Venom Review List 01

Movie Rating: 6/10 – Pretty Good.

Obviously, I’d prefer if Venom was given over to Marvel Studios and got to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel can do no wrong. Sony Pictures can definitely do wrong. I had low expectations for the film, and had long ago severed any hope I had for total comic book accuracy. With that in mind, I had an OK time and can legitimately say I enjoyed the film. It’s not a good movie, with a ton of flaws, but it was an ultimately watchable Venom movie. Good for them!
