Merry Christmas, henchmen and henchwomen! Are you enjoying the big day? I know I am. So let’s celebrate with style! Two years ago, I put together a list of Santa Claus’ best comic book appearances. I think it’s only fair to give proper due to the other half of the Christmas occasion: so let’s take a look at the best comic book appearances of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ!
You get the presents on his birthday
Surprisingly, J-Christ doesn’t get around as much as I thought he would. He isn’t even an honorary member of the Justice League, fer cryin’ out loud! But don’t feel too bad for the Son. Whether he’s a 12-year-old boy, a black man, a gun-toting maniac or a zombie-killing badass, comics love Jesus.

The Sherlock Prologue We All Wanted for Christmas
New episodes of the hit BBC show start on Jan. 1! It’s been years since the last episodes of Sherlock, so I, for one, am very excited. It helps that this prologue is entitled ‘Many Happy Returns’.
How did Sherlock cheat death? What’s he going to do now that Moriarty is gone? Will the show still be awesome?
Sherlock has always had such an odd style. Three episodes, each about an hour and a half long, appear almost back-to-back in January and then disappear for at least a year. Who runs a TV show like that?
All I Want for Christmas is LEGOs!
Whenever someone asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year, I told them I wanted LEGOs. And yes, I did turn 30 this year. Thank you.
The problem with being 30 is that I already buy anything I need. That means Christmas gifts should be things I want. And with DVDs going out of style, and my tastes in clothing, music and books relatively unknown, I asked for LEGO sets, because deep down, I’m still a little boy.
My dad said he didn’t want to get me LEGOs until I had kids of my own who could play with them. I can’t say he’s wrong. But have you seen the new Jabba’s Palace LEGO sets!? They are sweet!
Review: Saga #17
Oh man, I am so glad Saga #17 isn’t the last issue before the next multi-month break. The big confrontation between the good guys and the bad guys has arrived, but Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples cut it off with another tense cliffhanger. This issue is the opening salvo of the next big climactic encounter, and it’s pretty devastating in and of itself. But the juiciest stuff is probably being saved for next issue. I can live with that…barely.
Saga #17
Saga #17 sets everything up for a big, exciting battle to come, but it is not without its own charms and horrors.
Comic Rating: 7/10 – Good.
Prince Robot is at the door! He has tracked Marko and Alana to Heist’s lighthouse on Quietus, and Vaughn is ready to have some wicked fun with everything he has set up so far. I have no doubt in my mind that he has the entirety of Saga planned out in advance, he simply must. So the events of this issue, I know, are part of a larger, better, bigger story, and that makes them even more exciting. Saga isn’t just Vaughn making it up as he goes along. Saga is Vaughn at the top of his storytelling game.
Taken alone, there isn’t much to this issue. It’s a solid chapter, with some truly exciting moments, but it’s all mostly set up for next issue. Saga #17 is Vaughn and Staples getting the ball rolling, and I’m going to guess next issue is when the ball smashes through the wall and brings the whole darn lighthouse down! Possibly literally!
