Lex Luthor is a Jerk to California
A genius known only as Nick Acosta spliced together footage from the original Superman movie with the trailer for the upcoming San Andreas movie. They go together flawlessly – at least if you hold this video to the standards of 1978 special effects. I think I actually liked this trailer more than I liked all of Man of Steel.

Hawkgirl is Going to Be a Real Thing in that Justice League Show!
Holy wowzers, this is cool news! Remember that live action Justice League-esque show that’s going to spin off from The Flash and Arrow? Well apparently The CW has gone ahead and cast Hawkgirl, of all characters! Hawkgirl is going to exist in the Arrow-verse!
According to Deadline, she’s going to be played by up-and-coming actress Ciara Renee.
I’ve never heard of her, but Deadline has good things to say. Her character will be Kendra Saunders, and they’re going with the origin that she has been reincarnated several times, and now has wings! She’ll be joining the Atom and Firestorm on this new team show. I say she’s a solid addition. Hawkgirl has always had a lot of momentum behind her since the cartoon days, and seeing her in live action could be pretty cool. The world has definitely figured out how to make big, angel wings look awesome on TV. Just look at Constantine.

Mini Teaser for the Walking Dead Spin-off
Got 15 seconds to spare? Then check out this tiny teaser for this summer’s Fear the Walking Dead. That’s kind of a dumb name, but hey, they didn’t ask me to name the show.
So the show is going to be set at the dawn of the zombie apocalypse in Los Angeles. If you want to get away from the regular show, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Though if they really wanted to go nuts, they should have gone to Europe or Africa or something. But hey, I’m still gonna watch.
Speaking of watching, that was a pretty good finale last night! I’m not about to spoil anything, because I hate that, but I very much enjoyed what we saw. Some cool character moments, a little twist or two, though it wasn’t as epic as I imagined. It kind of reminds me of the finale of season 4, when the gang arrived at Terminus. The season finale was quiet…and then the season 5 premiere was intense!
Maybe The Walking Dead is determined to make anti-finales. That would be daring TV-making.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/28/15
I’m happy to report my busy week has come to an end! I was covering a murder trial in my day job as a mild-mannered newspaper reporter, and the guy ended up being found guilty. He had it coming, trust me. But all that day job stuff cut into my blogging and comic book reading, so unfortunately it’s going to be a somewhat light week. It helps that Marvel Comics didn’t really put out anything too crazy this week.
Though Marvel did put out Uncanny X-Men #32, which wins Comic Book of the Week for finally kicking off Cyclops’ final journey!
DC Comics filled up the rest of my week, with new issues of Batman Eternal, Batman and Robin and Gotham Academy. It seems I really read a lot of Bat-books. That’s largely unintentional, they’re just the best that DC has to offer. That’s not a bad thing, right?
Oh, and you can check out my review of Darth Vader #3 over at Word of the Nerd. Good times in Dark Lord of the Sithing!
Comic Reviews: Batman Eternal #51, Batman and Robin #40, Gotham Academy #6 and Uncanny X-Men #32.
Deadpool’s Movie Costume Looks Unreal
The official Deadpool movie costume was revealed today by actor Ryan Reynolds, and am I the only one who thinks it looks like a highly detailed CGI rendering? This thing looks unreal!
But if it is real, then kudos on everybody for making the costume comic book accurate. Deadpool has a fun costume, and we all know how horribly Hollywood could have screwed it up. We remember. I like the look, and I like the humor behind it.
Thanks to Henchman Javier for the tip off about the costume!
