Just a Little Grand Theft Auto Humor

And some horrible, horrible sadness.

They say that comedy is just tragedy plus time. So this would be…tragedy plus Grand Theft Auto plus…love? Still funny. The fine folks at Ned Game seem to know what they’re doing when it comes to video game humor.

It’s Way Past Time We Had a Warcraft 3 Reunion in World of Warcraft

My favorite thing about playing World of Warcraft is how intricately the developers have tied their MMO into the Warcraft games that came before. When they were building their virtual world, Blizzard didn’t just start from scratch; they dug into all of the games, novels and comic books that had come before and pulled out all sorts of people, places, weapons and dungeons to populate the World of Warcaft. Remember when you invaded Medivh’s dungeon way back in the very first game? Well now you can go quest there again and walk around its haunted halls. Or what about Khelgar, the sorcerer who helped you close the Dark Portal in Warcraft 2? Now you can go visit him for a chat and see how he’s doing.

Believe me, I could go on and on about all of the characters and places from the early games that are now sprinkled throughout the World of Warcraft. But instead, I want to draw your attention to three very specific characters who I think need to reunite and do something incredibly awesome.

I’m speaking, of course, about Rexxar, Rokhan and Chen Stormstout, champions of the Horde!

Or the Three Hordeketeers!

After the latest expansion, Mists of Pandaria, launched in September, all three characters are finally in World of Warcraft; but they have nothing to do with one another, and couldn’t be farther apart! One of them is, literally, on a different planet! But the important thing is that Rexxar, Rokhan and Chen are all finally in the game. So clearly it’s only a matter of time before they get the band back together, right? Surely I can’t be the only one who wants to see this badass team of heroes reunite?

Join me after the jump to find out who the hell I’m talking about and why this is one of the coolest Warcraft events nearly 10 years in the making!

Grand Theft Auto 5 Looks Ambitiously Good

Get your new Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer right here, folks!

That just looks fantastic. I’m a huge fan of the Grand Theft Auto games, and I am determined to have a working X-Box again by Sept. 19 to get this game. I was a bit wary about three protagonists, but those three trailers make each one of them seem fascinating. So I’m excited for that. Now all I need to do is start saving up for an HDTV!

Also, how did they do that on Youtube with the three trailers in one video thing? So weird!

Review: Dead Space: Salvage and Dead Space: Liberation

At long last, I have cleared enough space in my busy and penniless schedule to catch up on the Dead Space comics. I have two volumes, Dead Space: Salvage and Dead Space: Liberation, from the good people at Titan Books, so I decided to group them together into one review. They are both companion comics to the Dead Space video game series, taking place around the games. Salvage is a separate tale about a crew of illegal salvagers who come upon the dreaded Ishimura, while Liberation is a prologue comic to this year’s Dead Space 3. Both have their good parts and and their bad, and both are definitely entertaining.

Any big Dead Space fans would probably find a lot to like in these two comics. Fans of intense horror, especially in a futuristic, outer space environment, would also enjoy both books.

Dead Space: Salvage: 4/5: Good.

Dead Space: Liberation: 3/5: Alright.

Salvage and Liberation are two comics that any fans of the Dead Space universe would probably love to have on their shelves. I wish some of my favorite video game franchises produced comics of this quality. Much like the Dead Space graphic novel I reviewed earlier this year, these are great companion pieces for the games, expanding the universe the games inhabit while providing new adventures with new and sometimes familiar characters.

You can find both Dead Space: Salvage and Dead Space: Liberation at Amazon.com.

Injustice-Gods-Among-Us

Netherealm’s long-anticipated Injustice:  Gods Among Us has landed, and DC fans can rejoice.  After nearly a decade of mediocrity (not counting the truly excellent Arkham games), WB Games has given DC fans what they’ve all been waiting for with a licensed game that isn’t mediocre.
