Henchman Builds the Millennium Falcon
Seeing as how I’m still an unwed, kid-less man child, I spent my Christmas bonus this year on the LEGO Millennium Falcon. Despite my life-long love of LEGO, I’ve never owned, let alone built, one of those big, $100+ sets. Time to correct that and live a little dream. The Millennium Falcon clocks in at 1,329 pieces and looks pretty impressive on the box.
To sort-of honor the death of Carrie Fisher, I started my project the other night.

My saga begins…
I may keep all you henchies up to date on the build as it goes along. I like to savor this sort of thing. I didn’t even start building until nearly a week after I bought the LEGO. I just liked having the big, ominous box sitting on my desk. And rather than build the set in one sitting, I’m going to do a bit per day to stretch it out. It’s just more fun that way.
It’s good to have hobbies.

Speaking of LEGO figures I Want to Own…
Today is a great day for superhero LEGOs! Not only has Marvel revealed a Ms. Marvel mini-fig, but DC is also going to make one for Catman! And not just any Catman, but Gail Simone’s original Secret Six Catman! Holy guacamole, people! It’s like Christmas has come one month early!
I gotta have it!
Unfortunately, this Catman treasure will be part of LEGO’s blind bag waves. Basically, they just sell the bag and you could get any one of the 20 figurines in the wave. I might want to buy Catman, but I’ll end up with Batman wearing a tutu. It could happen. So it looks like I’ll have to turn to eBay or something…

Kamala Khan LEGOs Are Coming!
Oh my gosh, you guys! They’re going to make Kamala Khan LEGOs! She’s gonna appear in a cool Captain America Jet LEGO set!
That’s just stellar. Looks like I have something new to get my hands on. Along with that Kamala Khan action figure due out next year. I’m excited to see Marvel putting her in more merchandise. Hopefully that Netflix show is coming soon, too.
And if you’re into Marvel LEGO sets, the new year will also feature Agent Coulson and his flying car, Lola. That set also includes Detroit Steel, a momentary Iron Man villain from Matt Fraction’s Invincible Iron Man run. I really enjoyed that comic, but this is a super weird choice.

These Are So Soothing
I stumbled upon these videos this weekend, and I figured they would make a great start to the week! This guy has created a bunch of smooth, stop-motion LEGO builds! Here’s the Death Star!
I love LEGO. I love building the models and putting it all together and letting the magic happen. So this is my kind of video. It’s so smooth and soothing, like magic.
You can see a bunch more of these on the Bart van Dijk Youtube page!

Billy Dee Williams’ Two-Face to Live On in LEGO Form!
I just discovered this fun little Easter Egg from the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie in a gallery of Batman LEGO images from New York Comic-Con and I thought I’d share: Apparently, the Two-Face character in The LEGO Batman Movie might be a Billy Dee Williams version! How else do you explain this very obvious looking LEGO figurine?
It’s not mentioned on Williams’ IMDB page, and I haven’t really been able to find anything through Google, other than some other people wondering the same thing. But just look at that mini-fig and tell me that’s not Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent!
As we all know, Williams played Harvey Dent in the 1989 Batman movie, with plans to eventually turn him into Two-Face. But by the time Hollywood got around to including Two-Face in the franchise, they switched out Williams for Tommy Lee Jones! Williams was robbed! I don’t think we’ve ever seen a black Two-Face. And this race change would have been decades ahead of its time!
Leave it to the people behind the LEGO movies to come up with the ultimate Easter Egg.
