I Need to Post More Batman Fan Films
And to rectify that, here is one called Batman: Death Wish. It’s pretty OK. The acting isn’t all that great, the dialogue is simple and the guy playing Batman is terrible. But it’s very well made, with fantastic costumes, at least. They use Batman movie costumes, which is an interesting choice. It definitely works. I’m definitely excited about the major use of Robin and Nightwing. If you’ve got 12 minutes, it’s a fun little film to watch.
Batman Goodness That Only the Internet Can Provide
I love trailer mash-ups. Where they take the audio from an existing movie trailer and then splice it with footage from something else, possibly related. Here’s a new one and a sort of good one, giving the latest The Dark Knight Rises trailer an extra animated feel. Not the best I’ve seen, but good enough for this slow weekend.
Someone Sings The Hobbit Trailer – Hilarity Ensues
Does everybody remember that bitchin’ Hobbit trailer from last month? I thought it was the best trailer I’d seen in a long while. Well what the Internet gives us one day, it will make even more awesome the next day. The very creative Toby Turner at Tobuscus has sung the trailer. It’s delightful. Take a watch and tell me your funny bone wasn’t just tickled.
6 Fun Things I’m Looking Forward to in 2012
If we don’t count the bottle of Mountain Dew that I finished off that was still left over from 2011, then so far my 2012 New Year’s resolution to not drink soda is doing just fine! Thanks for asking. But a barren year of nothing to drink but water, milk and the tears of hungry orphans is not the only thing to look forward to in 2012. There’s a whole lot of crap going on, some of it better than others.
Also, it’s supposedly the last year on Earth. So there’s that.
2011 was a great year for geeky pop culture. We had an amazing year of superhero movies, with Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Green Lantern and the X-Men: First Class. TV was pretty neat, seeing the end of Smallville and the start of Game of Thrones. Everything from video games, comic books, novels and horse racing had a lot going on last year. Can 2012 even stack up? Well it’s going to give it the old college try. Here are 6 Fun Things I’m Looking Forward to in 2012. But rather than just individual things, they’re more like categories.
John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ with Penguins
I’ve never heard of the children’s television show Pengu. Nor have I heard of Lee Hardcastle Animations, the ones who posted this video to youtube. But I do know that it’s weird and funny and suitably fun enough to post. As if the Internet wasn’t already filled with insane machinations of fevered minds. Somebody somewhere decided to use a claymation penguin family to retell ‘The Thing’ in only about 2 minutes. That’s…that’s the sort of brilliance only the Internet can provide!
