Cool Things to Find, A Parody
If only all parody videos were this catchy. It’s a parody of ‘Dumb Ways to Die’.
I love the art, I love the song; taking the ‘Dumb Ways to Die‘ video and making new version is just good Interneting. It’s also a little odd that this seems to be a legitimate video in its own right, like an ad for the Mars Curiosity Rover. This is a great way to celebrate and cherish Curiosity for all of its alien exploration. Speaking of which, has Curiosity found aliens on Mars yet? That’s why we set it up there, right?
The video was produced by Cinesaurus, which scores points for making their name sound like a dinosaur.
Improv Everywhere on Black Friday
Those lovable scamps at Improv Everywhere have done it again, visiting a 99 Cent Store on Black Friday for the awesome deals! Now that’s a funny prank. And who doesn’t love a good prank? I should start an Improv Everywhere in Rome, NY, because I could have a whole half dozen people prank the…Wal-Mart, or something. I dunno. I could use some improv classes at the very least.
So did anybody get any good Black Friday sales? I almost bought a cheap HDTV at Wal-Mart, but then a friend of mine reminded me to be smart and actually research the TV online. Turns out it was a crummy TV. Who could have guessed? Apparently not me…until my friend pointed it out…dodged a bullet there.

How many of you were watching the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and saw this nightmare appear on your screen?

Some kind of sad, crying clown that wants to steal your eyeballs? Some kind of black and white nether ghoul here to eat our children? The tepid fever dream of a disgruntled Macy’s employee? Whatever happened to the classic, unthreatening Bart Simpson balloon?
Fortunately, we live in the world of the Internet, and I found out that the character is known as KAWS’ Companion. KAWS is a conceptual artist from New York City who designs intricate toys and figurines. He also makes bread out of children’s bones, I assume.
Though considering the various musical performances, perhaps we should be grateful there was something interesting in the parade.
Jocks Are Geeks Too
I don’t care much about sports. When comic books and video games are my thing, football and basketball tend to get pushed to the side. Such is the Circle of Life. But we’re not living in an 80s movie, people! Jocks can be geeks too! Check out this episode of ESPN NFL Kick-Off, where the anchors insert as many Princess Bride references as possible!
That sort of fun is why I still have faith in humanity.
The Badass, Anime Red Riding Hood You’ve Always Wanted
The animation director behind the genius Red vs. Blue is now turning his sights to some kind of werewolf-killing anime version of Little Red Riding Hood.
You can learn more about Rwby Red on its Facebook page. Rooster Teeth do amazing work. The last few seasons of Red vs. Blue have been action packed, with breathtaking fight scenes and insane action choreography. A lot of the early humor may be gone, but no one does an action or fight scene like Rooster Teeth. As you can plainly see in the above trailer.
Rwby Red comes out in 2013, and you better believe I’m going to be there to see it!
