6 Lamest Batman Villains

I said last week that Batman had the best Rogues Gallery in comics, and I stand by that claim! But even Batman has some stinkers in the bunch. Well, OK, he has more than a few stinkers. The guy has been in comics since 1939, and he can’t fight the Joker all the time. Batman has fought a lot of stupid bad guys, some who last only one issue and some who faded into obscurity years ago. But there are a special few losers who seem to stick around, who manage to claw back into the comics every now and again to remind us just how lame they really are.

Beware the Condiment King!

Don’t get me wrong, this is by no means a complete list. Batman and Robin have fought a lot of bozos over the years. These are just my pick for the 6 lamest Batman bad guys ever! And there are some ground rules. Guys like the Condiment King are purposefully lame. But this list is of legitimate villains who are just super lame. And I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments!

My 6 Favorite Batman Villains

Batman has the best bad guys in all of comics. From the Joker to Two-Face to Poison Ivy, each one represents a dark reflection of different aspects of Batman’s character. Joker is the chaos to Batman’s order. The duality of Two-Face and Harvey Dent reflects the duality of Batman and Bruce Wayne. Poison Ivy is all about sexuality, which underlines Batman’s own manliness and sexual prowess. Ladies. All of the classic Bat-villains are a dark, twisted version of Batman himself. You can’t say the same thing for any of Spider-Man’s villains.

Best. Rogues Gallery. Ever.

So with The Dark Knight Rises due to come out this weekend, I’ve decided to share with you my favorite Batman villains. You already know that my favorite character from the world of Batman is his sidekick Robin. But what about the bad guys? Here is the list of my top 6 Batman bad guys! And I would love to hear your own choices in the comments!

6 Awesome Character Classes I Want in the Diablo 3 Expansion

One of the greatest video gaming regrets in my life is that I never beat the expansion pack to Diablo 2, call The Lord of Destruction. I beat normal Diablo 2 multiple times, but whenever I tried to play the new expansion level, something came up and I never made it very far, let alone to the final fight against Baal. And I loved Diablo 2, so I don’t know what my problem was!

It definitely wasn’t the badass characters

For those of you who don’t know video games, expansion packs were sort of mini sequels to popular games, adding new content and new levels just for the fun of it. You started with the main game, and then a few months or years later, the developers would come out with an expansion and basically say, “We know you love our game, so here’s even more of it to play! Plus new characters! New accessories! Basically just a bunch of new stuff! Now where’s our money?”

We happily paid them.

The best things to come out of the Diablo 2 expansion pack were two new character classes: the Assassin and the Druid. I played as both, though the latter was my favorite. Not only could the Druid rain fiery meteors down upon his enemies, but he summoned wild animals to his side, and was both a werewolf and a werebear! He was totally boss!

So this got me thinking: When Diablo 3 releases its inevitable expansion pack, what new character classes might they add to the game? Just in case anyone at Blizzard reads my blog, I’ve decided to make a few suggestions. And yes, I’ve kind of stolen this list idea from GamesRadar. But it’s a fun list idea! Check out my suggestions (with some help from my girlfriend Alyssa) after the jump.

6 Villains I Want and 6 I Don’t Want in the New Spider-Man Movies

I would not have chosen the Lizard for The Amazing Spider-Man movie reboot. But then I didn’t have the unenviable task of picking a new super-villain to star in the reboot after most of the big names had been used in the three previous films. Who else were the writers supposed to pick? Well I’m glad you asked!

Spider-Man has the second best Rogue’s Gallery in all of comics (behind Batman). He’s got smart villains, bruiser villains, small-time crooks and big-time megalomaniacs!  So with this new Spider-Man franchise being launched, who would I choose for the upcoming sequels?

It’s kind of obvious

OK, so I’d pick Venom. And probably even Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. What can I say, they’re some of the best, coolest and most cinematic of Spider-Man’s villains. And I wouldn’t bat an eye if the new franchise wanted to use them. But you and I both know that Spider-Man has many, many more foes to choose from. So being the comic book geek that I am, I’ve put together a list of the 6 villains I want to see in future movies, and 6 that I don’t. Not all of Spidey’s bad guys are made for the big screen.

The 6 Most Tubular Non-Turtle TMNT Action Figures

The greatest thing about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figure line from the early 1990s was that the toymakers just went nuts designing a whole slew of brand new characters. And they weren’t just turtles. They were lions and dragons and ducks and gorillas, oh my! These mutants almost never appeared in the actual cartoon, and rarely in the comics. They existed only to enrich the lives of the toy-buying public who didn’t just want to buy variations of the main four Ninja Turtles – though there were a lot of those as well.

These were wholly original characters sprung forth from very creative minds – and you can bet I owned a whole bunch!

This takes me back…

These unique TMNT characters fit right into my love of fan fiction. Characters that exist on the fringes of the world, but still part of the world, are exactly what I like to write when it comes to fan fiction. That’s why I love these additional TMNT characters so much. Toymakers did the same thing with G.I.Joes and Transformers, adding new characters just for the fun of it. I wish more toylines did this. They have all these superhero movie tie-in action figures, why not make a few more characters who exist in the comics but didn’t make it into the movies? Like a Dark Knight Rises version of Robin or the Riddler. Or Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch from The Avengers. I think it would be awesome.

What else is awesome? These 6 unique TMNT action figure characters! And anyone interested in checking out all of the TMNT toys, visit this glorious website, which I used to make this list.
