Mortal Kombat: Legacy Is Still a Thing
Remember that cool, gritty, serious fan-film series about Mortal Kombat? I do, and so do the people who are making it!
That trailer starts out amazing, but goes off the rails a little when the super-powers and costumes come in. Then it gets better again in the end. They’ve definitely got a great look going. I hope they don’t lose themselves too much in the crazy stuff. I’m a big fan of this whole project, and I want to see it be awesome. The new episodes start on Sept. 26.
No word yet on whether or not Smoke is in the show. He’s my favorite kombatant. So I’ve got my fingers crossed!
Star Drunk: A Film By Drunk People
A good time is had by all as a bunch of drunk people wager interstellar war.
Good times, good times. This is yet another reason why I love the Internet and all the creative people found therein. The film was made by Chris R. Wilson Film.
Fans Make the Coolest Trailers
An enterprising geek named solyentbrak1 put together a trailer for the Batman/Superman moving starring Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight and Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor. It’s quality stuff.
For the record, I’m still cool with Ben Affleck as Batman. I’m also cool with Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor. I’m currently watching the entire Breaking Bad series, so I’m big into Cranston right now. Though I have to wonder…do people want Cranston as Luthor because he’s a good actor? Or because Walter White is badass and bald?
Cosplay with a Purpose
The Screen Team made another neat song about cosplaying, and I think all geeks can take this to heart.
What is up with the woman in these videos? I’m sure I’m not the first person on the Internet to wonder this, but I think she’s just there to look pretty and offer…other services. Well she does both very well. And speaking as a guy who is out of every woman’s league, that girl is totally out of that guy’s league. Just sayin’.
Starcher Trek Goes Where All Nerds Wish They Could Go
Some enterprising geeks decided to dub dialogue from Archer over the old animated Star Trek show just for kicks and giggles!

Why can’t we live in a world where this sort of thing happens more often?
Also, all you blog fans, I’m still sort of recovering/unpacking from my trip to Boston Comic-Con over the weekend. It didn’t help that I had to go to work this morning. Why I didn’t add Monday to my vacation, I’ll never know. Anyway, stay tuned this week for a recap of my Con adventure and tons of cosplay pictures!
