‘Injustice’ justifies DC fan-love
Netherealm’s long-anticipated Injustice: Gods Among Us has landed, and DC fans can rejoice. After nearly a decade of mediocrity (not counting the truly excellent Arkham games), WB Games has given DC fans what they’ve all been waiting for with a licensed game that isn’t mediocre.

Trailers This Week are Coming Hard and Fast, Two Things that Describe Superman
We’ve already had new movie trailers this week for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Star Trek Into Darkness, so how about a new Man of Steel trailer! Looks pretty neat!
I love prestigious trailers like this. I love the mood music, I love the ambiance. I love the depth and breadth they’re giving Superman. I’m definitely loving everything we’ve seen for Man of Steel so far, and I’m very excited for this movie. The snippets of action we saw looked pretty cool, though I’m not convinced this Zod is going to make a great villain. He seems kind of generically evil. Plus, on a personal level, I’ve just never cared all that much when Superman has to deal with some evil leftover from Krypton. I’m far more interested in everything Superman himself.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/13/13
We’ve got some good and we’ve got some bad this week, sometimes down to the very franchise. I’ve already ranted a lot about my disappointment with Batman and Red Robin, so at least the regular Batman book is good enough. On the Marvel side of things, the Avengers have a mediocre to strong output, whether it’s Age of Ultron, Avengers or Uncanny Avengers. You might even be surprised to learn that some kind of plot finally develops in Age of Ultron! I didn’t see that coming!
But speaking of Avengers, the star this week is Thor, as his series, Thor: God of Thunder, easily hammer-smashes the competition to win Comic Book of the Week! I was disappointed last issue with the weak origin for Gorr. But when Jason Aaron focuses on his various Thors, the comic is gold! It’s also the funniest comic you’ll read all week. Perhaps even the sexiest.
Comic Reviews: Age of Ultron #5, Avengers #9, Batman #19, Batman and Red Robin #19, Hawkeye #9, Thor: God of Thunder #7, Uncanny Avengers #6, Uncanny X-Men #4.
Launch Trailer for Game That is Probably Dead to Me
Behold, the pretty cool launch trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us! It comes out on Tuesday!
Sadly, despite all the coverage I’ve given this game, I will probably not be playing it anytime soon. Mostly because my X-Box 360 remains dead and I’ve been too broke to buy a replacement. But also, in part, because it does not look like Robin is going to be a playable character. I know, I know, silly reason to avoid a game. But I gave Injustice: Gods Among Us some of the best publicity of my life! And this is how they repay me!
You’re dead to me, Injustice: Gods Among Us.
At least until I go buy that new X-Box.
Did Someone from Arrow Read My Blog?
I’ve been enjoying the TV show Arrow these past few months. It’s not great, but it’s a good, solid superhero show. There are now four episodes left until the end of the season, and showrunner Marc Guggenheim tweeted something last night that hints towards an upcoming guest star.
And that potential guest star appears on my list of 6 DC cameos I’d like to see on Arrow!
Is Mark Guggenheim reading my blog? I can only assume that yes, yes he is. Join me after the jump to see the tease!
