Kingdom Come: Deliverance is Getting a Sequel!
Have you ever heard of the video game Kingdom Come: Deliverance? I hadn’t until a friend introduced me. It’s like Skyrim, if you replace all the supernatural fantasy stuff with rigid, medieval realism. It’s that same sort of first-person RPG, but these developers are real sticklers for historical accuracy.
For example, in Skyrim, you’ve got three pieces of armor for your head, chest and legs. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you’ve got your underwear, your outerwear, protective padding, chainmail and then chestplate…and that’s only for your torso! And each of those pieces of clothing/armor takes damage and needs to be repaired, and can get dirty, which can affect your charisma. And don’t get me started on the insanely steep learning curves for weapon fighting and archery. There’s even a side quest where your peasant character can learn how to read!
Anyway, there’s going to be a sequel this year!
If you don’t have time for that big developer video, here’s the regular trailer.
So I really enjoyed that first game, even though I never finished it. I didn’t have too many games I was looking forward to this year, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is definitely high on my list now! I can’t wait to not get a hang of the sword fighting all over again!
The game will come to all systems by the end of the year!

Kingdom Come Deliverance is one of those games I always come back to, I only finished it once on the Xbone but every so often I just put it on and do a couple of quests, my second playthrough started in 2021 in the PS5 and I’m pretty sure I’ve done 3/4 of the game like that, just a few of hours every month.
There are better games than it but one thing it does better than most is the sense of inmertion, you truly feel like you’re in the Middle Ages, just riding around the paths of different towns, seeing the people going around their business, the forest are some of the most realistic I’ve seen that you almost can get lost in and the nights are truly dark and full of terrors, also the combat means that a bandit camp of 6, which in most games is like a starting mission, is something I have to be careful about, I have to either use stealth or lure them out of the camp one by one.
There is of course a lot of jankiness and half-completed systems or quetionable design decisions that make it hard to recommend to everyone, but for a AA game it’s impressive what they managed to accomplish, I’m looking forward to the sequel now that they have the budget and experience to do the dream game they always wanted to make from the start and to see the end of the story of Henry, I think I will try to finish that second playthrough before it releases.
How are you able to even remember how to use that sword fighting gameplay after putting down the game for months at a time?!
Got enough points in Speech, Stealth and Archery that I can do well enough using that, and if I can’t talk my way out of it, get discovered and they get too close I just keep slamming an axe on their head hoping the Headcracker perk knocks them out, then eventually go to the Captain to train until I remember how to fight properly, practicing combos, perfect blocks and master strikes, all the fun stuff, do a few more quests after that, then I put down the game for a month, go “You know, I feel like playing KCD” and then the pattern repeats.
