6 Characters Who Are Ice Cream
As I relax in my apartment and look outside my window today, it’s started snowing for reals. This is the first day of real snowfall and even a little accumulation. It sucks. Nobody likes the snow. I don’t mind the cold when I’m inside, because I can just bundle up. But man, that snow.
And what better way to celebrate the beginning of winter than with ice cream!
Makes some kind of sense to me! Because otherwise, after more than a decade of doing Lists of Six every single week, I’m just running out of ideas, man! I did snow and ice-based comic book characters years ago! And I’ve done two different snowmen lists. I’m not a machine! But everybody loves ice cream…and yet there are surprisingly few ice cream-based fictional characters. Or, at least, they’re very hard to Google unless you know where to begin.
And we’ll begin right here! Join me after the jump for the tastiest pop culture characters who are ice cream in one way or another!
6. Eye-Scream
Eye-Scream is a mutant from the X-Men franchise who has the powers to turn into ice cream and create ice cream, of any flavor. He made one appearance, years ago, as a joke character in an issue of Obnoxio the Clown. It was a joke story and amounted to nothing other than creating Eye-Scream. He then came back decades later as a mutant on Krakoa, because that’s exactly what I wanted from the Krakoa Era: random, obscure mutants brought back to hang out and just be around.
There’s also Soft Serve.
5. Ice Cream Cone
A lot of people slept on The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. It was a great movie, almost as good as the first movie. I love the songs, I love the humor, and it’s got a good message as well. Kudos all around! Ice Cream Cone is a tertiary character who serves Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi. He’s snotty and an ice cream cone, so he works for this list.
4 Sgt. Scoop
Sgt. Scoop was the ice cream cone member of the Food Fighters, a minor toyline from my childhood that I will carry with me to my grave. These toys weren’t real action figures, they were pretty crummy, but for some reason, I loved them! They didn’t get a cartoon show or any other 1980s-style promotion, so they faded into obscurity. But Sgt. Scoop was a member of the good guys, the Kitchen Commandoes, so at least he had that going for him.
3. Sarah G. Lato
I never watched The Amazing World of Gumball, but Google tells me that Sarah G. Lato is a character! She appears to be a background student character at Gumball’s school, and starts in a small role and then has various speaking lines and storylines in subsequent seasons. So good for her! She also seems to like comic book superheroes, so she sounds like my kind of character!
2. Ice Cream Kitty
Ice Cream Kitty is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles character who could use more appearances! She was an original character in the 2012 cartoon. She’s a stray cat that eats some ice cream mixed with mutagen and becomes half ice cream, half kitty cat! She lives in the Turtles’ freezer and is very cuddly. That’s just funny. And she was voiced by Ninja Turtles creator Kevin Eastman! So that’s some great trivia!
1. Ice Cream Soldier
Ice Cream Soldier lives rent free in my head, and has done so since childhood. I was a big fan of G.I. Joe as a kid, especially the little action figures. Those were great! And I saw Ice Cream Soldier in the store one day and the name was just so weird to me. I never bought him and, for that, I’m disappointed in myself. But everything lives on in the internet, and now I know that Ice Cream Soldier is the Joes’s flamethrower specialist. And the name is intentionally ironic. Good for him!

Whoa, I knew the Joes were hardcore but I didn’t know they were flagrantly flouting Protocol III to the 1980 Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed To Be Excessively Injurious Or To Have Indiscriminate Effects.
