Iron Man to Appear on Arrow — Oh No, Wait…
So, uh…here’s the first look at Brandon Routh’s Atom on the TV show Arrow.
Remind you of anyone else? Like, in a clearly obvious, almost wincing kind of way? Like, in a way that The CW might be paying more attention to Marvel’s movie success than DC’s?
Keep in mind that the Atom, whose super-power is shrinking, does not wear armor like this in the comic. He wears a normal, ordinary spandex superhero costume. The armor has been created for the show. So…uh…does DC Comics know they’re doing this?
Also, way to put zero effort into protecting your secret identity, pal.

Got to say, it’s a really pretty suit. If this dude gets shrinking powers, DC will have found a way to compete with both Iron Man and Ant Man!
Part of me is wondering if Atom was brought into Arrow specifically to screw with Marvel’s Ant-Man movie.
Eh, I can get into it. So long as he doesn’t start firing repulsor blasts out of his palms, I’m not too bothered by it. I’ve always loved the idea of the Atom, I just hope they make it look good. They pulled it off with Flash, but a guy jumping around on molecules and atomic particles is a whole other thing entirely- and I’m not sure exactly how it’s going to equate to crime fighting. I’ll just say that if they make it work, I’m going to be damn impressed.
It’s actually been a joke on the show that he fires some kind of beam weapon from his hands/gauntlets.
Oh yeah!
Dammit, Arrow. You silly, silly show.
I like it but the visor looks so dumb to me. Actually the whole top part i hate. Rest i am okay with. If you want it to look ant man and ironman hybrid like, then make the top cool.
Also thanks for emailing me back, you rule
I do rule!
And yeah, way to have a lame visor that gives away his secret identity!
