Pretty Rad Deadpool Test Footage

I had no idea this existed, but here it is: Deadpool movie test footage. Rumors and theories about a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds have been floating around Hollywood for ages. Well apparently, some time ago, some people put together this CGI footage of Deadpool being goofy and killing some thugs. It’s not half bad.

I’ve got my own problems with Deadpool. They are massive and varied. But I won’t go into them here. Based on this footage, I bet it could make for a really good movie. Who’s to say?

i’m a fan of Deadpool and i have been hoping for a movie for years, but I have come to realize it most likely wont happen, the test footage is amazing and i hope it gets made but i know it would be a pretty big risk to make a R rated superhero movie. Also as much as i would like it to be successful, i doubt many people would actually see it, its hard to sell a movie thats only made for a fandom

    • That’s very true. But Deadpool is no more obscure than the Guardians of the Galaxy, and I can’t imagine the average person doesn’t get a little pumped after watching those Guardians trailers and commercials. Sell Deadpool right and he could be a modest success.

Very true, but GotG is a huge “the hole universe is at stake” extravaganza. I don’t think you could do that with a Deadpool movie, also I don’t think Fox would promote the movie as much as GotG has been by Marvel. But who knows…Fox knows

  2. What are your issues with Deadpool, Sean? I’m curious if they’re the same as mine.

    • It’s hard to explain, but I just don’t like his humor, at least the humor of recent Deadpool. Sometimes he’s funny, depending on the author and the situation. But most of the time he’s written as just wacky for wacky’s sake. Like in that clip, he makes some joke about being pregnant, said in some dramatic fashion, before starting the fight. What does that even mean? Why is that there or funny? There are plenty of examples out there. I can’t stand the current Deadpool comic. I’ve read two issues and both were just laboriously unfunny to me. Maybe they’re funny to other people, but it’s not my sense of humor.

  3. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but it can’t be a coincidence that this footage was “leaked” right in the middle of SDCC, aka the time when every geek on Earth who is not at the con is spending their time looking for awesome trailers and teasers to share.
