Did Someone from Arrow Read My Blog?

arrow-poster-cw1-600x350

I’ve been enjoying the TV show Arrow these past few months. It’s not great, but it’s a good, solid superhero show. There are now four episodes left until the end of the season, and showrunner Marc Guggenheim tweeted something last night that hints towards an upcoming guest star.

And that potential guest star appears on my list of 6 DC cameos I’d like to see on Arrow!

Is Mark Guggenheim reading my blog? I can only assume that yes, yes he is. Join me after the jump to see the tease!

So according to Guggenheim, could we see Ted Kord, the Blue Beetle!?

That would be fantastic! As you can see from my list, Blue Beetle is my #2 pick for cameo behind Roy Harper, who has already appeared on the show. So I think it’s pretty clear that Arrow’s writers, producers and most likely its stars are reading my blog for ideas! Good for them. I think the Blue Beetle would be an awesome reoccurring character, someone who doesn’t take vigilante work as seriously as Ollie.

But this picture maybe just be for a Kord Industries billboard in the background of a scene, like how they’ve name dropped other DC cities on the show before. We’ll just have to wait and see.

How are you guys and gals liking Arrow, by the way?

  1. This came out of the *blue,* didn’t it? *wink*
Let’s hope he meets the *gold* standard. *wink*
What’s next? A man dressed up like a hawk? *wink*

You know, just in case the writers needed any help with their puns and fan-winkery.

  2. So, I was initially pissed by name changes and the atrocity they have committed against my favorite DC lady, Black Canary/Dinah Lance, but they’re doing a great job with PTSD and I’ve enjoyed their take on Speedy’s addiction/Ollie’s war on drugs from the comics. It’s grown on me.

    • One must always be prepared to accept changes when comics are adapted to film or TV. I figure, as long as they get the basic idea right, a few aesthetic changes don’t bother me. For example, I don’t mind the various changes to the Hulk’s origin in his various movies, but I can’t stand the way they completely changed the point of the character in Thomas Jane’s Punisher movie.

  3. Never forget. No matter how much you want to.

  4. I’ve been liking this show, but I feel like the pacing is off. Their ideas with Huntress, and villian work with Count Vertigo, and Deadshot (not so much with China White) have been excellent. The flashbacks to the island are my favorite part, especially with Yao Fei’s daughter on board. Though young Ollie can be a little annoying. The one thing I don’t like is the pacing with Ollie’s personal life. His reveal to Tommy was badly timed, and not cool enough, and it seems like too many people know who he his. The Roy Harper and Thea story is pretty good, but giving Ollie a girlfriend on top of the club, Tommy-with-his-identity, relations with his mother and Laurel, and the actual hero work has muddled it too much. This show is best when they have Arrow vs Villians, but when they try to deal with his personal life they screw it up. I love their interpretation of Felicity, she’s my favorite character on the show. Blue Beetle could work if they have him as a buisnessman first, but not if they’re going to make him someone from Ollie’s past, or something like that. Ted Kort is definitely a better fit for this show then Jaime Reyes. Now if they just get back to basics, this show will be great, if they stay how they are they might run into trouble. OK, I’m rambling now, stopping.

    • I agree that Tommy found out the truth pretty quickly. Though I like the Tommy/Laurel relationship. I definitely don’t want to see Ollie hook up with Laurel at all, let alone too quickly. And Ted Kord could be a businessman…maybe one of those young Facebook-esque billionaires who decides to become a superhero for the fun of it.
