I Haz A Cold

Why oh why has science not yet invented a cure for the common cold? What’s taking them so freakin’ long? We have cures for a lot of different sicknesses, so why not the exact one that I had this weekend? And still have today. Ugh. I’ve got the sniffles, a sore throat, a headache and a stuffy/runny nose. Lucky me.

Anyway, that explains why I didn’t have any posts up this weekend, in case anybody came here looking for new material. I had this big Justice League post I was going to right – still am. Plus other stuff just to fill the weekend. But nothing like a cold to keep you from wanting to do anything of the sort. I’m feeling a bit better today, but definitely still sick. I wanted to write this so that everybody would know where my posts are. I’ve got plenty of good ideas for this week, so stay tuned.

Here’s a preview of this week’s List of Six!

Miserable cold here too! I was supposed to be trying on my wedding dress yesterday, but I’d coughed so much over the last week that I’d given myself a three-day migraine so had to postpone.

If only colds didn’t mutate into different strains every five seconds… 😦

    • I know, right!? One second it’s a stuffy nose. The next it’s a headache. Ugh. But that was a good idea post-poning. Definitely save wedding dress stuff for a good, non-sick day.

Yes, weddingy stuff is definitely best left for a good day when you’re not visiting Snotsville!

I thought you’d get a kick out of something I recieved from my bridesmaid this morning. Along with the clutch bag she found that matches my wedding gown, and a box of calming tea to soothe the wedding jitters, there was a blue gift box inside the parcel.

It turned out that she’d taken care of “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” for me. Inside was a little metal TARDIS, complete with a plastic Yale key and one of those brown cardboard keyfobs with our names and the date printed in a lovely old-fashioned script. In the bottom of the TARDIS is a secret compartment, which opened to spill out little blue “time crystals”!

Best good luck charm for a wedding ever, yes? And only the TARDIS can be all those different “somethings” at the same time šŸ™‚

      • Fantastic Bridesmaidery! The TARDIS is indeed perfect for that old wedding chant. When they used it at Amy’s wedding is one of my favorite scenes.

Heheh, that’s exactly why Liz thought of it. She’s a Who fan too, as well as generally just being Made Of Win, and that was her first thought when the fiance and I announced our plans.

My TARDIS is going to be nestled inside the clutch bag on the day, and then it shall join the rest of my Who stuff in my Geek Cabinet Of Awesome šŸ™‚
