I Am a Sucker for Adorableness
I have zero interest in the character X-23. She’s a young, female clone of Wolverine that skirts around the edges of the X-Men franchise. I just don’t care about her at all. She’s a silly idea that has somehow gained enough traction to warrant her own series. I guess she’s got fans somewhere…(says the guy who loves Multiple Man and the Mimic).
But despite my disinterest in X-23, I’ll definitely be buying her new issue Wednesday because she’s going to be baby-sitting Franklin and Valeria Richards, the children of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four!
The preview pages for this issue, written by Marjorie Liu and drawn by Sana Takeda, are too adorable for me to pass up.

Oh comic books, you guys are the best. This is the perfect premise for a comic book, like when Spider-Man went on that date with Ms. Marvel. That’s why Marvel always wins, because their characters are real. Reed and Sue go out without the kids and team once in a while. They need a babysitter capable of protecting their children from the host of threats they’ve encountered over the years. Of course you’d want Wolverine protecting your kids. Then when it turns out that this Wolverine is teen girl, that’s a bingo. I’m glad that there are writers thinking about stuff like this. It almost seems like this should be someone’s fan-fiction.
Also, just wondering, but do these gala charity events exist in real life? Because all the time in fiction you see parents dressing in formal wear and going to “the big charity ball” or whatever. Bruce Wayne throws one every couple issues it seems. If they do exist, I want to go to one sometime. It seems very grown-up.
