Madrox Lives!

The day we’ve all been waiting for has arrived: the full X-Factor teaser has been released and Multiple Man lives! My fears of Jamie Madrox dying were for naught. Behold, faithful readers, of the awesomeness that is X-Factor!

He may be tucked way down off to the side, but at least he's there!

Madrox dying would have really put a crimp in my comic book reading habits. For all you non geeks, I figure it would be like if your favorite sports star was no longer playing the sport. Or if your favorite TV character left the show. The final season of Scrubs just wasn’t as good without JD. Of course I watched it, but it felt less than itself. That’s what a Madrox-less X-Factor would have been like.

And it’s not just Madrox, but Longshot and Polaris as well, which was one of my guesses from the last post. So that’s very exciting. Granted, there are now 11 characters on the team. That means less panel-time for everybody. But I’d like to think that writer Peter David knows what he’s doing. The man rejuvenated Multiple Man, after all! I’ve got to have faith!

For anyone interested, here are the full X-franchise teaser images for all their titles. None of the character reveals have made me want to pick up a book that I wasn’t already planning to pick up. Though now I’m even more excited to be getting Wolverine and the X-Men since Iceman and Toad are on the team. My brother Cippy is getting Cyclops and the Uncanny X-Men.

First is Wolverine and the ‘Gold Team’.

Second is Cyclops and the ‘Blue Team’.

The only sadness in all of this is that my other favorite X-Character, The Mimic, is not on any team. Oh well. Back to comic book oblivion for him.

About Sean Ian Mills

Hello, this is Sean, the Henchman-4-Hire! By day I am a mild-mannered newspaper reporter in Central New York, and by the rest of the day I'm a pretty big geek when it comes to video games, comic books, movies, cartoons and more.

  1. good to see and longshot is in too yeah. and ah poleris?

  2. Well Polaris and Havok have been joined at the hip for years now. Even after he ditched her at their wedding (cough, Chuck Austen, couch) so it makes sense that they’d stick together. Plus, classic 90s X-Factor all the way! It’ll be like getting the old band back together.

  3. Well I certainly feel screwed over! Where’s Archangel?! And don’t tell me they’re gonna kill him in X-Force! Like we seriously need the AoA Nightcrawler. Also, is Psylocke on two different teams? And where’s Kitty? Granted I don’t want Kitty on my team, but I also don’t want a mopey Colossus wearing Juggernaut’s helmet (also for some reason I don’t understand.)

And dammit, I thought you were going to get Emma Frost. I am so sick of Emma Frost! In 50 billion years of comics, we have never gotten to see Cyclops as the lone-wolf. Yes, Cyclops is the best leader in comics (take that Captain America, Reed Richards, and the revolving door of characters who run the other teams) but I still think he could do it all without them. For like half a year would be really nice if Cyclops just ditched everybody for giving him too much shit and saved the world solo.

Oh and now that I see that New Mutants has X-Man and the guys who wrote Nova are writing it, I think I’ll pick it up….maybe X-Men too….INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

  4. Kitty Pryde is on Wolverine’s team. She has Lockheed back! As for Archangel, you’re just going to have to keep reading those X-Force issues I gave you, same with Colossus and the Juggernaut helmet. It’s all in those Fear Itself Uncanny X-Men issues. They’re actually pretty awesome. Avalanche makes a cameo.

Sorry to hear you don’t like Emma Frost. I still enjoy her. She and Cyclops make a good couple. But yeah, a single Cyclops would be neat. He could be mackin’ it and stuff. He is definitely a badass leader.
