Dark Knight Rises Review Coming Tomorrow

In case you’re chomping at the bit to read my Dark Knight Rises review, I want you all to know that it’s coming tomorrow. I saw the film this afternoon, loved it, have various thoughts on it, and now I need to collect them all into my usual rambling review. Until then, enjoy this delightful cartoon that kind of sums up my thoughts on the movie pretty nicely, actually!

This’ll Get You Excited for The Dark Knight Rises!

The Dark Knight Rises debuts tonight at midnight, and I know several people who will be attending the midnight showing! Not me, sadly. I have work on Friday, and the last time I went to a midnight premiere, I didn’t catch up on my sleep until Sunday. I guess I’m getting old. But this super trailer, combining Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises is quite badass.

Swear to Batman!! Over and Over!!

Batman is a master of interrogations! It’s that gravely voice, it gets you every time. You just can’t resist. Also possibly the repeated punches to the stomach and face. Those have to suck.

Darn it! Why am I Not in Love with The Dark Knight Rises?

Probably the distinct lack of Robin.

But time and again, each new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises fails to impress. This new trailer released today features a lot of action and violence, with a slight focus on Bane, but I just can’t bring myself to get excited! The trailer is mostly rapid cuts to more and more action without really laying out the plot or anything else. And Bane just doesn’t impress, not like the Joker did in The Dark Knight.

But judge for yourself. What do you guys think of this new trailer?

The movie comes out on July 20. I think in the end, Christopher Nolan is going to look back on his trilogy and feel remorse for not including Robin.

Batman Commercials Better Than Batman Trailer

Whereas the first two The Dark Knight Rises trailers were kind of somber and low key, the first two TV commercials for the upcoming film are a lot more badass, with some nice humor mixed in. I fully expect more of a somber movie when it’s finally released, but that somber thing hasn’t really been stoking the flames of excitement. So enjoy these commercials! Though there are some slight spoilers for the movie, I think. At least some facts/plot points that I didn’t know previously – though they don’t ruin the movie.

And the second, with added Catwoman:
